Usually, the room is accessible by stairs in The Sims 4. But thanks to the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack, ladders are now an option. Building a house using the room tool

First of all, builders need to determine the size of their houses. It may seem obvious, but it will play a huge role in building a Loft. After picking an appropriate-sized Lot, players need to enter the Build Mode.

Choose the Room Tool and start building the general shape of the house. After that, builders need to go to the second floor by pressing the Up button on the top right corner.

Removing unwanted floors

Next, players are going to use the Wall Tool or the Room Tool to divide the second floor. Depending on the size of the house, builders need to figure out which part is going to be removed and which part is going to stay. After deciding, simply click on the unwanted area and remove the floors. Now, players can see the floor below.

Tips And Tricks For A Better Loft Build

Removing the wall leads to the roof disappearing

Roofs can sometimes mess up the builds in so many ways. In Loft houses, roofs can intervene in two different ways; disappearing completely or popping through the walls.

When players are building a Loft, the common mistake is removing the Loft's walls using the Wall Tool before putting the fence. Unfortunately, This will lead to the roof disappearing. The easy solution would be to pick a fence then immediately change the wall without using any tools.

the roofs going through the walls and ruining the build

The second problem occurs when players build a pitched roof (A-shaped) house. When making the Loft, builders will notice that once the fence is added, the roof will go through the wall and can be seen on the interior of the room.

Building extra rooms

An easy fix is to decrease the pitch of the roof. This can be done by clicking on the roof and moving the little arrows around its edge. It won't solve the problem completely, but the roof's edges will be less obvious. The final step is to pick the Room Tool and make extra rooms between the Loft and the roof in a way that all the edges are gone.

lights on both floors create an awkward sight

The last tip is how to place lights inside a Loft. Players should keep in mind that once they remove the floors, placing lamps on the first and second floors will become an awkward sight. The first-floor lights will appear to be "floating" as there is no ceiling to hold them. To avoid that, builders should put them only on the second floor.
