Unicorns are majestic creatures that were first introduced in The Sims 3: Pets and have now become a mystery in The Sims 4. Many Simmers are wondering where to get a Unicorn and if there is even a possibility to stumble upon it while exploring the new World, Chestnut Ridge.
Luckily, there is a method to obtain a Unicorn in The Sims 4, but it’s not as exciting as players believe. Also, while the magical creature used to have extra abilities in The Sims 3, Unicorns are sadly similar to normal Horses in The Sims 4.
How To Get A Unicorn In The Sims 4
The only way to get a Unicorn in The Sims 4 is by creating one while in CAS. Horse Ranch introduced the ability to create Horses as new pets for Sims to take care of. It’s safe to say, that Unicorns don’t require any special food or drink and can be taken care of like a normal Horse.
How To Create A Unicorn In CAS
To create a Unicorn in CAS, simply click on the head and select the Horn option. There is only one Horn available currently and it has a variety of colors. Upon selecting it, the Horse will become a Unicorn.
Luckily, there are more than 30 Breeds varying from American Quarter Horse to Welsh Cob. Simmers can choose a desired breed and change the mane under the Coat Color & Pattern option to make it more magical, so it can fit with the aesthetic of a Unicorn.
Other than the mane, Simmers can also customize the forelock, feathers, and tail by either coloring them or adding a small feature like a bow or a flower crown.
Additionally, similar to Cats and Dogs in The Sims 4, players can also benefit from Paint Mode to create any pattern or stamp that can help create a Unicorn in CAS. One particular Stencil might help, which does the sparkles stamp that covers the whole body except for the legs.
Unicorns Abilities
As far as abilities go in The Sims 4, Unicorns' Skills, lifestyle, and training methods are similar to normal Horses. The only difference is the small glow emitting from the horn and a few sparkles around the body. Additionally, the voice echoes when it neighs. Other than that, Unicorns are the same as Horses.
It’s a bit of a let-down since Unicorns in The Sims 3 possess more unique abilities like blessing or cursing Sims, pets, and plants.
How To Breed Unicorns
Unicorns can breed normally with any other Horse. A Foal Unicorn in The Sims 4 will sport a cute, small shiny horn that grows once it becomes an adult. Elder Unicorns will also keep the Horn, but the glow will dim a bit.
