Pets are precious companions in real life and the same concept can be found while playing The Sims 4. Horses were introduced in the Horse Ranch Game Pack, allowing Simmers to adopt or rescue a Horse.
Sadly, any pet has a lifespan, and players have to say goodbyes eventually as the Grim Reaper guides their soul to the afterlife in The Sims 4. However, many don’t know that there’s actually a way to reunite with a ghost Horse and add it to the family as well as bring it back to life.
How To Get A Ghost Horse In The Sims 4
There are two methods to get a ghost Horse in The Sims 4; adding the ghost Horse to the household after death or using cheats. The latter is easier than the former.
Adding Ghost Horse To Household
After an Elder Horse dies from old age, the Grim Reaper appears and takes the pet’s life away, leaving a tombstone. Place the Horse's grave on the Lot and wait for the Horse’s ghost to respawn.
Try mourning it and offering some Sugar Skull Offering occasionally to speed up the process.
Eventually, the spirit will appear and roam around the Lot in The Sims 4. Approach the ghost Horse and select Invite To Household. The Horse agrees if the relationship between the pet and Sims is excellent or above average. If not, well, Simmers need to build the friendship slowly or use cheats to be able to add the Horse.
Using Cheats
If players are too impatient to wait for the Horse to die naturally, activate cheats by typing Testingcheats true/on in the cheat box then type the following cheats:
- Write sims.get_sim_id_by_name {PlayedPetFirstName} {PlayedPetLastName}
- Replace the brackets with the Horse’s name. For example sims.get_sim_id_by_name Coconut Connors
- Copy the serial number which is the pet’s ID
- In the cheat box, type traits.equip_trait Ghost_OldAge {Pet ID}
- Replace Pet ID with the Serial number and press enter. For instance traits.equip_trait Ghost_OldAge 1142807363284762779
How To Revive A Ghost Horse In The Sims 4
To bring a ghost Horse back to life in The Sims 4, players must cook Ambrosia and turn it into a Horsebrosia Treat then feed it to the ghost. Ambrosia requires three main ingredients; Death Flower, Angelfish, and the Potion of Youth.
Death Flower
- Requirements: Gardening level 5
Grafting a Death Flower is by no means an easy process as it is time-consuming and requires many steps:
- Take a Cutting from a Cherry tree and Graft it on an Apple tree to get a Pomegranate.
- Take a Cutting from a Lily bush and Graft it on a Snapdragon bush to get an Orchid.
- Take a Cutting from a Pomegranate tree and Graft it on an Orchid bush to get a Death Flower.
Most of the flowers can be purchased from the two stalls in Henford-On-Bagley, which comes with the Cottage Living Pack in The Sims 4. Players might even find an Orchid, relieving them of step number 2.
Angelfish
- Requirements: Fishing level 5 or 10
This step will probably take the longest since Angelfish is a rare fish. There are many spots in the World that offer Angelfish, but the one with the highest rate is likely the Oasis Spring.
Travel to one of the Residential houses in Bedrock Strait and approach a fishing sign near the river. No bait is required, simply try to Angle for Big Catch option to increase the chances of catching an Angelfish.
Fishing level 10 allows Simmers to see sparkles around the sign, which means there’s a rare fish inside the pond, increasing the chance even further to catch an Angelfish, but level 5 works just fine.
Potion Of Youth
- Requirements: 1,500 Satisfaction Points
Complete whims or an Aspiration in The Sims 4 to get Satisfaction Points. Next, enter the shop and buy a Potion of Youth for 1,500 points.
How To Make Horsebrosia Treat
- Requirements: Gourmet Cooking and Cooking Level 10
Interact with any fridge and click on Cook a Gourmet Meal. Scroll down and cook Ambrosia. Next, click on the dish and choose Make into Horsebrosia Treat. Simmers can now feed the treat to the ghost Horse and bring it back to life.
