Players of The Sims 4 often feel as though they are "playing god" by controlling the lives and deaths of their Sims. The Greek God/Goddess Challenge gives them a chance to flip the script. This challenge allows players to explore and re-create the tales of ancient Greek mythology.

Sims must be designed to represent a different god or goddess and match key aspects known about them, including appearance, traits, and aspirations. There are also several goals each god must achieve throughout their lives, such as reaching the top of their career, having several relationships, or completing certain skill sets. Additionally, Greek-inspired architecture, hair, and clothing are encouraged by using in-game or custom content to further immerse simmers in the mythological world.

  • Loves Outdoors
  • Dog Lover
  • Self-Assured

Angling Ace

Career:

None

In Greek mythology, Artemis is known as the goddess of the hunt. The Sim version of this goddess should adopt and care for a dog with the Hunter trait, and they should both go out on hunts for collectibles frequently. Rather than finding a career, Artemis makes money by fishing and selling items like MySims trophies, metals, fossils, and crystals.

Players should catch all types of fish in The Sims 4 to complete the Angling Ace aspiration. In terms of Artemis's family, she can never get married, nor can she ever Woohoo or Try for a Baby with another Sim. The legacy must be passed on by adopting a child.

Traits:

  • Creative
  • Music Lover
  • Ambitious

Friend of the World

Doctor

Apollo is the god of many things, including the sun, medicine, and music. To accurately reflect this god in The Sims 4, players with the Get to Work expansion pack should have Apollo reach the top of the Doctor career.

This well-rounded Sim should advance his creative skills while focusing on maximizing the guitar and piano. Once finished, developing the writing and logic skills could add authenticity to the character. The Sim version of Apollo desires to be liked by his community and should therefore pursue the aspiration of Friend of the World. He must have at least one child to start the next generation of the challenge.

  • Child of the Ocean

Players may need a refresher on how to become a mermaid, which can be achieved by a few different methods. As a passionate Sulani dweller, Poseidon tries his best to improve the quality of the island by keeping the beaches clean and discouraging littering. Before settling down with a partner, he must go on dates with three other Sims and have at least one child.

Generation Four: Demeter

Natalia-Auditore's Greek-inspired Demeter hair

Traits:

  • Loves Outdoors
  • Vegetarian
  • Perfectionist

Aspiration:

Freelance Botanist

Career:

Gardener

Demeter is the goddess of the harvest. To match the legends of this goddess, the representative Sim must be committed to gardening skills, careers, and aspirations. As a child, Demeter should enroll in the Scouts and become a Master Llamacorn Scout.

She should live on a residential lot that is large enough to fit her fruitful garden. Players with the Cottage Living expansion pack may enlist the help of animals like birds, bees, and bunnies for gardening assistance. In fact, it is required that Demeter cares for three bee boxes. There are no regulations for her love life; however, she must adopt at least one Sim to pass on the legacy.

Generation Five: Aphrodite

User rking8812 has created a Greek goddess standing in for Aphrodite

Traits:

  • Romantic
  • Family-Oriented
  • Outgoing

Aspiration:

Serial Romantic

Career:

Babysitter

Everyone knows Aphrodite, the goddess associated with love and beauty. In The Sims 4 realm, she is also quite well-known as a serial romantic who frequently plays Cupid by hooking couples up together. She should do this at least three times before the generation is over.

Although it may not be the most prosperous of careers in the game, Aphrodite works as a babysitter to care for children. Only after she has finished the Serial Romantic aspiration can she begin to have children of her own - five at the very least. Aphrodite must also reach level 10 of the flower arranging skill, with help from the previous generation's garden.

Generation Six: Zeus

A gray-haired Sim by Simgazer stands in for the Greek god, Zeus

Traits:

  • Hot-Headed
  • Jealous
  • Romantic

Aspiration:

Leader of the Pack

Career:

Astronaut

The mighty Zeus is the king of the gods and goddesses and represents thunder. He should cause mayhem in the skies by purchasing a Weather Machine and tampering with it frequently. Build a Mount Olympus-themed penthouse fit for this king and decorate his bachelor pad with expensive furniture. Zeus must also create a new club and be their fearless leader to complete his aspiration.

Legends have said that this god's charisma and allure got him involved with lots of women, some even simultaneously. Players should have Zeus get married to a Sim and perform mean interactions towards any Sim who shows interest in her. Meanwhile, he should have several affairs with other women and have at least one child for the next generation.

Generation Seven: Hades

Simgazer's version of the Greek god Hades

Traits:

  • Materialistic
  • Evil
  • Self-Assured

Aspiration:

Public Enemy

Career:

Criminal

The Sims 4 has the Grim Reaper, but the Sims have no idea that Hades lurks behind in the shadows. The god of the underworld is an evil Sim who finds entertainment in pain and misery. This Sim knows everything about ghosts as they make up the majority of his friend group, but he can have one other human friend.

Although he despises love, Hades does like trickery. Players controlling Hades should woo a Sim, pretend to be nice to them, and propose, only to be very mean and condescending once they are married. This Sim will be forced to stay married to the devil as long as he desires. He should have a child with this Sim or any other Sim he would like.

Generation Eight: Hermes

A Greek Sim dressed in Natalia-Auditore's warrior custom content poses

Traits:

  • Kleptomaniac
  • Active
  • Creative

Aspiration:

Chief of Mischief

Career:

Athlete

Like Apollo, Hermes represents many things in life. He is most commonly known as the god of trade, merchants, and sports. This makes him a perfect candidate for the athlete career. Hermes is also quite the mischievous deity and should do well with the Chief of Mischief aspiration.

Hermes loves all the festivals in the game. Every time the flea market comes to San Myshuno, Hermes is in his element. He should both buy and sell items at tables during the event. His level-10 writing, mischief, and charisma skills all come in handy when haggling at booths and swindling customers. Hermes should have at least one child, whether they are adopted or conceived with another Sim.

Generation Nine: Hephaestus

A mean-looking Sim is dressed in Greek warrior costume

Traits:

  • Perfectionist
  • Genius
  • Loner

Aspiration:

Nerd Brain

Career:

Retail Store Owner

Poor Hephaestus, the god of forges and fire, was not the best-looking of the immortal family. Players should keep this in mind while creating him. He enjoys solitude and manages his own retail store where he sells handmade items from his woodworking table. Hephaestus should maximize his handiness skill to ensure his creations are of excellent quality.

Somehow, he does find a wife and gets married. Their marriage, however, is quite unhappy. The partners attempt to save their connection by having at least one child, though it only seems to cause them to drift further apart.

Generation Ten: Athena

A Sim in a Greek toga and a flower crown made by Daalia

Traits:

  • Genius
  • Self-Assured
  • Ambitious

Aspiration:

Renaissance Sim

Career:

Painter, Politician, Law Enforcement

Athena's birth marks the tenth and last generation of the challenge, and she may never give birth; however, some prefer to have her adopt a child to continue with other gods and goddesses. As the goddess of wisdom, strength, and crafts, Athena is very well-rounded. Players should reflect this by attempting several skills - prioritizing painting and logic - and three separate career paths.

There is a required sequence of careers to be followed. First, achieve level three of the painting career and then quit to join the politician career. Once level three is achieved in the politician career, quit and join the law enforcement career. Players can follow Athena to work to help her reach level 10.

The rules for this challenge were created by Cheetah_Alyssa .

The Sims 4 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
