The Sims 4's upcoming expansion pack, Growing Together, has just gotten a new gameplay trailer that demonstrates how family dynamics will be influenced and modified. The Sims 4 has been around for nearly ten years, and it's still going strong. It has recently gone free-to-play which allows everyone that hadn't gotten it yet to enjoy the base game and try out its features before deciding if they'd like to complement it with any of the available DLC.

The Growing Together expansion pack is releasing March 16, 2023, just a couple of days after the free Infants update. Gamers have high hopes for the upcoming Sims 4 DLC and update; after years of waiting for a pack that would be somewhat similar to The Sims 3's Generations pack, this might just scratch the family gameplay itch. Hopefully, once Growing Together is available, more gameplay options for all Sim life stages will become available.

The Sims team has recently posted a three-minute trailer that explores two of the DLC's main features. Family dynamics and compatibility features are being added to the game, and they will greatly and continuously influence each other. In the trailer, it is shown how various family members get along with each other and what type of dynamic exists between them. Relationship building and family gameplay will be the primary focus of this expansion pack; with these additions, players will really be able to take it to the next level. It is speculated that Growing Together might be the last piece of DLC being released for The Sims 4, so the developers will definitely want to end things on the right foot.

In the Create-a-Sim menu, while selecting the kinship degree between two Sims, players will also be able to manually decide the family dynamic between them, either close, distant, difficult, or jokester. This might change automatically in the future as a consequence of the type of interactions the two Sims have with one another. On top of that, trait compatibility and milestones achieved together throughout their lives will also influence the dynamic.

Although a lot of hints have been dropped regarding certain features and gameplay elements that will be added to The Sims 4 once the pack is released, there is still a lot to be revealed regarding the Growing Together DLC. Players that prefer legacy playthroughs to build mode will most definitely have a blast and be able to create even deeper stories within their Sims' lives.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
