The Sims 4 Clubs

The Get Together pack introduces a new gameplay feature - clubs. Clubs are the biggest aspect and the main selling point of this pack. Sims can join existing clubs or create and manage their own, which is perfect for Sims of shared interests and activities to gather and interact. Clubs and their associated perks address the deficiencies in the base game when it comes to forming groups where the group members were just engaging in random activities. With clubs, players have more freedom and control over what happens during a gathering. Players can select which of their Sims will become the leader of the club, and customize the club's name, symbol, description, activities, and join requirements. This allows players to create a unique and specific social gathering for their Sims and their friends to enjoy.

Alongside managing activities that Sims should be performing, players can also control what activities should be avoided during a gathering. This is great for those who don't want their Sims to be autonomously mean or flirty with other Sims. Players can even opt for more creative options such as taking a shower or cooking if they want the Sims to be miserable during the gathering. Ultimately, the possibilities are endless thanks to the Clubs system, which includes the game's major activities in this list. Furthermore, if their Sim is the leader, players have the ability to control when and where club meetings can take place, allowing them to occur at any time and in any location. Players can choose the location of the gathering, dress code, exclusivity, and more. They can also decorate the club hangouts freely with items that represent their club, and purchase exclusive club items.

Club Perks

The Sims 4 Club Perks

Club Perks offer a wide range of redeemable rewards that allow players to customize their club and gain bonuses during gatherings or even without an active gathering. These powerful rewards can help Sims improve their skills, careers, needs, and interactions, as well as provide them with moodlets and status boosts.

With so many rewards available, players can find something to suit their individual needs. Club Perks can be redeemed with a certain amount of Club Points, which are easy to gain by participating in activities listed for the club during a gathering. Activities that award points will have a green thumbs up icon beside their name, making it clear which activities should be focused on. Moreover, the sims will not lose any points for engaging in restricted activities.

Windenburg

A view of Windenburg from one of the bridges

Alongside being one of the biggest worlds with 24 lots to offer, Windenburg is one of the most stunningly beautiful worlds in The Sims 4. Its aesthetic style draws inspiration from classic Germanic towns, evident by its timber-framed houses, winding cobblestone streets, and quaint river-side areas.

This world boasts distinct districts that can accommodate any player's needs, including a modern area with expensive mansions located far from the main city, where Sims can take in the beautiful coast and live a peaceful, solitary life. There is also a more traditional area with by a riverside with a haunted mansion, and the bustling city center, which features plenty of residential zones as well as non-residential zones with cafes, nightclubs, swimming pools, and more. The city center is perfect for club gatherings, offering numerous activities for Sims to do.

New Skill - Dancing

The Sims 4 Dancing Skill and Group Dance

Sims can definitely dance in the base game, but the Get Together Pack takes it to the next level. Not only is the Dancing skill become available again, with a max level of 5, but this pack also adds some really fun dancing aspects to the game. Dancing skill is quite easy to get since Sims can work on this skill by practicing dance moves on a mirror, or simply dancing to a radio or on a dance floor.

Sims with higher dancing skills can show off some impressive moves, participate in dance battles, and most importantly, Sims can enjoy the fun of group dances. Normally, players would need to form a group to dance in sync, but club gatherings provide an easy way to do this since the club members will already be in a group. Once the group is formed, players simply need to click the dance floor and select the “Group Dance” option to initiate this fun social activity. Once the Sims hits level 2 on the Dancing Skill, they also obtain a portable dance floor which will allow Sims to do group dances anywhere they desire.

New Skill - DJ Mixing

The Sims 4 DJ Mixing Skill

For Sims looking to add a bit of energy to their next gathering, learning DJ Mixing skills can be a great way to get the party started. There are a variety of DJ Booth options – both portable and stationary – that Sims can invest in, depending on their party needs. It's important to note that while it's certainly possible to make money with this skill, it will only be worth doing so to pay bills when the Sim has achieved a high enough DJ Mixing skill level.

Players should keep in mind that there is currently no book for Sims to learn this skill, so they will need to practice on a DJ booth in order to improve. When Sims have a high skill in DJ Mixing, they will start throwing tips when the DJ booth is used in public. From Level 8 onwards, Sims can create and license mix-tapes, which can generate residual income similar to publishing a book. Additionally, from Level 6 and onwards, Sims can upgrade their DJ Booths without needing a handiness skill to gain access to additional features and functions.

New Traits

The Sims 4 Traits

Traits in The Sims 4 add unique characteristics, quirks, and personalities to your Sims. Depending on the trait type, your Sims may act differently in certain situations, gain beneficial moodlets, and receive bonuses for certain skills. The Get Together pack is a great addition for Sims who are interested in clubs and parties, as it introduces 2 traits specifically designed to enhance their club and party experiences.

The Sims 4 Dance Machine Trait

Dance Machine

Lifestyle

Sims with the Dance Machine trait love to dance and will become bored and get a tense moodlet if they don't dance for a while. These Sims will also level up their Dancing skill faster and receive a happy moodlet when entering a bar, nightclub, or lounge, which can be further boosted with the 'Party Time' interaction to turn into an Energized moodlet. This skill unlocks additional interactions with other Sims, and themselves including 'Disco Naps', which allows these Sims to have more effective naps to keep the party going.

The Sims 4 Insider Trait

Insider

In-Game Description: These Sims love being in Clubs, and tend to be happiest when surrounded by their friends. They can Share Insider Story, and may become sad if they don't interact with friends for a period of time.

Being part of large groups is something that they truly enjoy, especially when they are part of a club. Furthermore, this trait also grants them unique interactions, like the ability to share an Insider Story with Sims who are not a member of their club. They will however get a Sad moodlet, if they are not around their friends for a certain period of time. Players should also note that this trait conflicts with the Loner trait.

Leader Of The Pack Aspiration

The Sims 4 Leader of the Pack Aspiration

The Sims 4 offers a variety of fun aspirations, and the Leader of the Pack Aspiration is one of them. As Get Together introduces clubs, this aspiration focuses on being part of a club and making it the best there is. Players can complete this aspiration by either starting a club or joining one of the premade ones, however starting one might be the best way as players will have more control over the gatherings and club features. Furthermore, as the last step of this aspiration requires the Sim to be the leader of the club, they will not need to take over the club if they start one to begin with.

The tasks in each step are relatively easy and can be achieved quickly if players focus on exploring what clubs have to offer. Having Insider and Outgoing traits can also be helpful while completing this aspiration. The reward trait of this aspiration is the natural leader trait which will help Sims earn club points faster to upgrade the perks of the club. These sims will also have an easier time overthrowing other club leaders.

Community Lot - Cafe

The Sims 4 Cafe

Cafes are a new type of lot assignment for Community Lots, perfect for Sims who want to grab a quick bite or a refreshing drink. Unlike restaurants, Cafes cannot be owned or managed, but regardless, they are the ideal spot for club gatherings and socializing with friends in a peaceful and cozy atmosphere.

In Windenburg in particular, Cafes provide an alternative to bars and nightclubs, so they are an ideal destination for those looking for a more relaxed environment in which to enjoy snacks and drinks. Barista NPC's are also added with the addition of Cafes In addition, for players who own the Get to Work pack, items sold in Cafes can be stored in inventory and sold in a retail store, making them an attractive option for players that are looking for a way to own a Cafe.

Community Lot - Nightclub

The Sims 4 Nightclub

Nightclubs already existed in the base game but weren't much different from bars or lounges, apart from the fact that people went there to dance more than drink. With Get Together, this was taken up a notch, as Sims can take part in group dances in a more fitting atmosphere.

Additionally, DJ NPC's were added, who can run the DJ booths, or players can use them to practice DJ Mixing skills without the need to buy a booth themselves. Furthermore, nightclubs now have themed nights, depending on the expansion pack owned. During these times, players may see Sims dressed in specific outfits or take advantage of Happy Hours with discounts on drinks.
