Sims can't only depend on their Acting Skill to make a name for themselves on the big screen and will have to thrive in various other Skills, but the money and notoriety are well worth it for those who want the high roller lifestyle. So, this guide has everything players need to know about the Acting career if they wish for a unique working experience in The Sims 4: Get Famous.

How To Join The Acting Career

The Sims 4

The Acting Career is an active job, so players can follow their Sims to work and live out the workday. To join the Acting career, Sims can use their phone or the Work panel at the bottom right-hand of the screen to find a job. Then, like in freelance careers, Sims sign on with an agency after confirming the job and get to choose gigs to work.

There are four agencies for aspiring actors to choose from:

  • A.I. Staffing Agency: Sims receive automated reminders for their gigs.
  • Everyday Extras Talent Agency: Sims get access to more Daytime TV and Commercial gigs.
  • G.R.A.N. Talent Agency: Sims get access to Historical and Musical roles at lower skill levels.
  • Well Suited Talent Agency: Sims get higher pay for Primetime TV, Action, and Drama gigs.

Every gig has a specific Skill Sims will need to work on in tandem with their Acting Skill. For example, Commercial gigs will likely require high Charisma when Sims attend the auditions. Auditions are rabbit-hole events that last for a couple of hours.

The Sims 4

Sims are notified if they got the part when they return home, and the job panel will be updated with information on the gig, such as the date and preparation tasks. Players can attend the workday with them, which results in more fame and money, or send them alone to earn the base pay. The Acting career, although freelance in nature, has ten promotion opportunities. Sims must complete gigs regularly and get Gold Ratings during the workday to be promoted quickly.

How To Earn Gold When Acting

The Sims 4

Sims will earn a rating for their work whenever players attend the workday with them. Sims can earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold ratings, just like during Social Events, and they must complete tasks during a time limit to increase their rating.

Before going to a gig, Sims should complete all the prep tasks for a smooth performance. These will include practicing a specific skill, meeting the director and co-stars, practicing acting with another Sim, or performing a monologue.

The Sims 4

During the gig, Sims will start by getting into their hair and makeup and socializing on the set. They may also be encouraged to rehearse with their co-stars or grab a plate from the complimentary buffet. Finally, they should let the director know when they are ready to start filming. Sims should ensure they do all the scenes before the workday is over for a high rating.

The Sims 4

When filming scenes, Sims will get two options for their performances. They can do the typical scene or do a risky performance. To earn Gold, Sims should do every single scene using the risky option. If players had them do the prep tasks, they should pull them off with no trouble. However, if a Sim does a risky performance without having prepared, there's a chance they will mess up and get a lower rating.

The Sims 4

After doing all the scenes, Sims will be rewarded with their rating. They will also see how much fame and money they earned, and if their performance is strong enough, they may be nominated for a Star Accolade award.

The Sims 4: Get Famous is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
