The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle encourages Sims to band together to strengthen their environment and protect their ecosystem from pollution. Different areas will have Eco Footprints that reflect the types of landscaping, buildings, and materials used throughout the world. Neighborhoods with lousy air quality give Sims negative moodlets and the world a grungy look, but this can be changed through Neighborhood Action Plans or N.A.P.s.
N.A.P.s support community involvement, green living, and discipline when it comes to protecting the environment. Of course, there are good and bad consequences when it comes to N.A.P.s depending on if Sims stay true to them, but they have a distinct effect on the overworld and Sim behavior. Here is everything players need to know about Neighborhood Action Plans in The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle.
What are Neighborhood Action Plans
N.A.P.s are community-voted rules and regulations that apply to each neighborhood in a world that either positively or negatively affect the Eco Footprint. These are set into place every Monday after the voting period ends.
Sims can vote on a particular N.A.P. from Friday at 8 AM till Monday at 6 PM. Voting is done using Influence Points, earned as Sims complete certain actions, such as friendly interactions, discussing the environment, recycling, and more. To vote, click on a mailbox or use a Community Voting Board. Sims can vote on more than one N.A.P., but the one with the most votes at the end of Monday will be put into place starting immediately.
Some N.A.P.s have dedicated Sims called Civic Inspectors that check to see if the rules are being followed every week. There are certain N.A.P.s that, if not followed, can increase a household's bills or charge Sims a fine. If Sims want to get rid of a particular action plan, they can submit a repeal and must have it signed by 5 Sims to remove it from the neighborhood.
Players can turn NPC voting on and off or disable Neighborhood Action Plans entirely from the Setting Menu.
