So, many players may not actually know that the Seasons expansion pack for The Sims 4 added the Scout career as an after school activity for children and teenagers. This guide will talk about scouting and teach players everything they need to know about it before joining the Llama Scouts.

How To Become A Scout

joining after school activity

To become a Scout, a Sim either has to be a child or a teenager. During this life stage, they can join after school activities and make the most out of their free time. The Scout career is a great way to break out of the monotonous routine during the weekends.

Players can turn their Sims into Scouts by using their phone, opening the Business tab, and then selecting the "Join after school activity" interaction. A menu will pop up on the screen just like it would with any other regular job, and it'll display the career's details.

There is no monetary compensation for being a scout, although if the player reaches the maximum scouting rank they'll earn an exclusive reward trait that will greatly improve the Sim's learning capacities in the future.

In this career, the Sim has to perform tasks during their daily life in order to earn badges, but the meetings only take place twice a week - Saturdays and Sundays, from 2 PM to 4 PM. This schedule guarantees that kids won't miss school or spend too much of their free time in activities to harm their school progress.

Scout Career Lader

The Scout career has five ranks to climb. Sims can only attempt to complete the Scout career before they turn into Young Adults, so gamers should keep an eye on the Simology menu to see how long before the Sim ages up and can no longer be a scout.

The Scout career is fun to complete once in a while with a child or a teen Sim. It incentives players to play with them even if they can't do as much as adult Sims, and it can also give them a life-long boost to skill building. Reaching the Master Llamacorn Scout rank unlocks the Scouting Aptitude trait which makes it so the scout Sim builds skill 25% faster than they would regularly, and it's not a boost that disappears once they reach adulthood - it remains with the Sim for life, unlike some other reward traits. Sims fans that enjoy this career should check out the High School Years expansion pack since it also added tons of teen-related content and after school activities to improve a Sim's development during their childhood.

Scout Badges

There are nine Scout badges to collect in total; to reach the highest rank of the career, Master Llamacorn Scout, a Sim will have to acquire them all. Players can check their badge progress in-game by interacting with the Scouting Badge Board, and they should definitely do this often since it's the career's daily task.

Reaching level five of the Scout career may seem like a complicated task during a Sim's childhood, however, most of these actions can be completed during a Sim's daily life. Overall, the badges were picked perfectly to keep it at a medium difficulty, and the chores feel exactly like what real-life scouts would be given; this is one of the reasons why Season is one of the best expansion packs for The Sims 4.

To collect a badge, the Sim has to interact with the Scouting Badge Board, select the Collect option, and choose whichever badge they've earned. Thankfully, a notification will always appear on the screen once a scout badge has been earned.
