Games like Animal Crossing give players tons of tools to bring their favorite things from the real world or even other games to life. However, the opposite is also often true, with Animal Crossing fans often building their favorite things from that game in other life-sim titles, like The Sims.

In this particular case, a beloved item from Animal Crossing has now appeared in The Sims 4, and surprisingly, it's an official release. Rather than relying on fans to build it, it now appears that a froggy chair like Animal Crossing's is available in The Sims 4.

Although The Sims 4 has tons of available content made by fellow players, EA also regularly releases new expansions and DLC content for the game. The latest of these is The Sims 4's Little Campers Kit, which released on May 26. The DLC adds a slew of new items that players can add to their homes in The Sims 4, all around the idea of little kids camping. Fittingly, this is the DLC release that has now added the froggy chair, and Redditor Charioh shared the discovery with their fellow Animal Crossing fans.

While The Sims 4's froggy chair may be a reference to Animal Crossing, there are some distinct differences between the two. Animal Crossing's froggy chair looks like it might be made of plastic, and is generally simplistic. The Sims 4 take on it, on the other hand, appears to be made of fabric, includes arms (complete with a cup holder), and its face looks fairly different from the Animal Crossing take. In any case, this isn't the first time that a froggy chair has been available in the Sims series, as it was also available in The Sims 3.

Even though the two have their differences, Animal Crossing fans seem to be quite pleased to see a doppelganger of their beloved chair appear in The Sims 4. There's a significant amount of crossover between the two player communities, and fans themselves have rebuilt and brought things from Animal Crossing to The Sims, as well as the other way around.

Although some fans are happy, others were quick to point out a shortcoming of The Sims 4's froggy chair, which is that it requires a DLC purchase to get it. While the DLC only costs $4.99 and includes much more content than the chair, some may be dissuaded by the cost. The froggy chair notably also didn't launch with Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but it did eventually make it to the title in a later free content update.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
