The Rogue Prince of Persia uses death as a mechanic to unravel the main storyline. While you start with the goal of reaching the palace to stop the invading Huns and free your people, finding clues along the way will reveal that someone from the royal family has been captured. That person turns out to be your brother Shahin, who you must also find and free as quickly as possible.

Considering the rogue-lite nature of the game, rescuing Shahin will not be easy. His quest is designed to span across multiple runs, but each time you die, you come back stronger. Here are all the clues that will help you find Shahin's location, and how to open his cell doors in The Rogue Prince of Persia.

How to Find All the Mind Map Clues to Rescue Shahin

The Rogue Prince of Persia - Mind Map

The Rogue Prince of Persia features a mechanic called a Mind Map similar to an evidence board used by detectives to solve cases. Every time you discover a clue, the Mind Map will update to track your progress by connecting different events.

During your early runs, the Mind Map will only hint that someone important was captured. Finding more clues will reveal that the person is your brother, Shahin; what happened to him, and where he is being kept as a prisoner.

You, however, do not need to find all the clues to complete Shahin's rescue quest in The Rogue Prince of Persia. You only need to unlock all the biomes to reach him. Some of the clues only exist to fill the Mind Map, so they do not need to be found in any specific order.

There is little sense in following the Mind Map to track your progress in The Rogue Prince of Persia . Since clues can be discovered in any order, you can discover where Shahin was taken before learning that the person captured is Shahin. This is something that may warrant fixing once the game is ready to leave early access.

The following is a list of all the clues you need to find to complete the Mind Map for Shahin. You can also just explore every nook and cranny of each biome to uncover all the clues.

The Hun War Camp Clue

The Rogue Prince of Persia - Hun War Camp Clue

During your first run, find and speak with Azadeh, the village chief, in Zagros Village. She can be found at the highest levels of the biome, so keep climbing until you find her.

Speaking with Azadeh will unlock the Hun War Camp, which can only be accessed from the Oasis. Head over there in the next run and keep exploring until you come across a large table with an exclamation mark. There will be a note on the table that talks about capturing someone important in the Grand Academy. Reading the note will unlock the Grand Academy and start your quest to rescue Shahin in The Rogue Prince of Persia.

Do not forget to find the equipment chest to unlock the Whirling Spear in The Rogue Prince of Persia . It is a tier-A weapon that does a lot of damage in the right hands.

The Grand Academy Clue

The next clue can be found in the Grand Academy, which can be accessed through the Zargos Village. Enter every golden door (doors with light streaming out of them) in the Academy until you find a room with a lot of scrolls and documents.

There will be a torn fabric on the table that belongs to Shahin. You now finally know that the person captured is your brother. Interact with it to update your Mind Map and complete the biome to face General Berude in the Outer Ramparts.

The Grand Academy could prove to be challenging. Make sure to increase your maximum health to stand a chance.

The Ruined Aqueduct Clue

On your next subsequent run, head to the Ruined Aqueduct instead of the Grand Academy. Explore the lower levels of the Aqueduct to discover a deep shaft alongside a red chain. There is nothing more to do here for now, but remember this location because you will need to return here later.

You can also find the Prince's mother on one of the lower levels of the Ruined Aqueduct. She is another node on the Mind Map that can be updated to unlock an achievement in The Rogue Prince of Persia.

The Ruined Aqueduct also has a blacksmith who upgrades your weapon for gold . Find him at the lower levels as well.

The General Berude Clue

Beating General Berude in The Rogue Prince of Persia reveals the location of Shahin if you have found the previous clues. She will mention that Shahin is being kept inside the Tower of Oblivion, which is the next biome you enter after the Outer Ramparts.

General Berude's dialogues change depending on how many times you have faced her and what clues you have found prior.

The Tower of Oblivion Clue

The Rogue Prince of Persia - The Tower of Oblivion Clue

Shahin can be found in a prison cell at the end of the Tower of Oblivion, which is longer than any of the previous biomes in The Rogue Prince of Persia. While the game randomizes each level, you have a higher chance of finding Shahin by following the lower paths on the left side. If you spot a hallway with a series of cell doors right after unlocking a Well of Dreams, you are on the right path.

When you finally find Shahin, speak with him to mark the end of the run. There is nothing else to do here except jump on the platform above and head into the door to find your next clue. The notebook on the desk will reveal that the only way to free Shahin from his cell in The Rogue Prince of Persia is to speak with Azadeh.

The Rogue Prince of Persia has come out only a few months after the last PoP game, but its gameplay differs quite heavily from that in The Lost Crown.

How to Open Shahin’s Cell Door in The Rogue Prince of Persia

It is finally time to free Shahin in The Rogue Prince of Persia. However, note that all the following events need to be completed within the same run.

  • Start a new run and speak with Azadeh in the Zagros Village to get a lever.
  • Return to the shaft in the Ruined Aqueduct and use the lever to release the water.
  • Head on to beat General Berude, and enter the Tower of Oblivion.
  • Reach Shahin again and jump to the platform above to pull the lever. This will open the cell doors to free Shahin in The Rogue Prince of Persia.

With Shahin finally free, speak with him to complete the quest. You can continue to explore the Tower of Oblivion to farm more Spirit Glimmer and make more headway. However, if you want to find Shahin again, you need to return to the Oasis. He will be waiting beside your tent.
