The internet is fast. Just as quickly as Sony unveiled the new DualSense Controller for the PlayStation 5, it has become a meme. The new two-toned, feature-stuffed, controller was a surprise revealed by Sony today, and cyberspace took about 3 seconds to both praise and mock the changes.

The DualShock controller has had small variations over the years, so perhaps Sony deserves some props for such a 180 on its design for the new PS5 controller. And while many fans seem to like the look, others have taken to Twitter the poke fun at it, even claiming it looks too similar to the Xbox controller.

One hilarious post has David Cage designing the controller, and the idea is spot on. The game maker, known for his ties with Sony, has a certain look to his games, and the new DualSense controller fits right in. Some have the opinion that David Cage doesn't do emotions in games as well as his reputation may lead everyone to believe, but apparently he can put together a controller pretty darn well.

There are truly some mixed reviews among the fanbase. Some are blaming typical console wars, but one thing is true, with the new Grand Turismo coming to the PS5, players can hope to match their controller with the BMW i8.

It may be impossible to go through a new meme wave without at least one Star Wars one, and this particular laugher using the new DualSense controller as a helmet is rather ridiculous and hilarious. Video games and Star Wars are a meme match made in heaven.

The bulk of the memes really are just comparing the Xbox Controller to the new PS5 DualSense. Spongebob is also great for endless memes. As the release date for the SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini was recently leaked, perhaps players may be able to enjoy with the new controller while remembering the following meme:

In the end, the funniest meme may be about the controller that never was. Sony has asked for help designing controllers in the past thanks partially to the failure that was the "boomerang" PS3 controller. The backlash for that controller was nothing like the new PS5 DualSense controller, that in general is getting some love from fans, so it is doubtful that Sony will completely drop this controller as it did with the "boomerang." Still, the internet's ability to drop countless mems in a heartbeat continues to amaze.

The PlayStation 5 is slated to launch this holiday season.
