Kill the Snitch is the first trial most players will complete in The Outlast Trials. It takes them to a desolate prison to kill a prisoner giving out information on the horrors at Murkoff Facility.

The final objective in The Outlast Trials is to complete therapy and be reborn. The only way for that to happen is to go through various trials set forth by Murkoff Facility. The trials consist of new Outlast enemies, puzzles, and maps. They can be chaotic, especially for solo players. So, here's a complete walkthrough for Kill the Snitch in The Outlast Trials.

Kill the Snitch Walkthrough

The Outlast Trials Kill the Snitch

Players can access the Kill the Snitch Trial at the main terminal in The Sleep Room under the Programs tab. A summary of the trial will explain the mission objective: A prisoner is baring "false witness" against Murkoff Facility, and it is up to players to silence him.

The Outlast Trials

Players will receive rewards based on their assignment grade after finishing the trial. Grades are decided by how many times players die, how many traps they set off, how many times they enter psychosis, etc. Rewards for completing Kill the Snitch include at least the following:

  • +1500 XP
  • 500 Cash
  • 1 Ticket

After selecting Kill the Snitch, players can decide whether to complete the trial alone or in a team using the online multiplayer features.

Infiltrate the Police Station

The Outlast Trials Police

When the trial starts, players spawn near a Police Station, with their first objective telling them to infiltrate the station. Unfortunately, the front doors are blocked, so they must find a different way inside. An enemy is patrolling the outside area, so avoid lingering there too long.

To get inside the police station, go to the right of the front doors, and there will be an open door to the back of a broken-down delivery truck. Go inside, and it leads to a window inside the police station. An alternative route would be to kick in the door labeled Jail across from the Cocktail Lounge, but this does make noise that may attract enemies.

Reach the Security Room

The Outlast Trials

After entering the police station, the objective updates to find the Security Room. There are signs all around the front of the precinct that lead to the Security Room. Players will encounter a screamer-type enemy in the front of the precinct that restricts movements with its powerful sound waves.

The entrance to the Security Room looks like the terminal that players arrived in, and they rotate into the room. Going inside triggers a cutscene, and then the objective updates to go to the holding cells and get the Snitch.

Get to the Snitch

The Outlast Trials Snitch

Players must go back the way they came through the Security Room terminals. Then, go past the hanging cup traps, take a left in the hall labeled Holding Cells, and follow the track to the Snitch.

He is sitting with a bag over his head in a chair attached to the tracks. The assignment updates to push the Snitch along the track, but players won't make it far when the power goes out. To continue, they must restart the generators found in the basement.

Restart the Generators

The Outlast Trials

Restarting the generators is when things get tricky. Players must reach the underground parking garage to access the basement. They can find the entrance by going to the back of the holding cells and following the path downwards to a garage door.

The door must be lifted manually, so work quickly to avoid any nearby enemies. Directly to the left of the entrance is a door with a warning sign for the generator room. The generator needs fuel for it to get started back up.

The Outlast Trials

There are fuel tanks around the parking garage, and players can pick one up and then approach the generator and fuel it manually. There will be multiple enemies in the underground area, including the warden, who uses an electrified weapon, so stay alert and hide wherever possible if spotted by anything.

The Outlast Trials Warden

Once the generator has enough fuel, the next step is to Tinker with the circuits on both sides to reset it. They must be flipped in order until they are all lit up green. Then, the generator must be cranked by stopping the dial once it enters the lit-up zone.

The Outlast Trials

The second generator room is directly across from the first one behind the police cars. Repeat the steps from earlier to restart the second generator. If players are in a co-op match, there will be four generators instead of two. Once the generators are on, players must return to the Snitch back the way they came.

Find the Gate Keys

The Outlast Trials

Push the Snitch until approaching a closed gate with a TV monitor above it. The objective will update to find the key using the hint on the TV monitor. The clue is a heart symbol.

Go inside the yellow door with "Key" written on it, and there will be a body on the floor with a blue heart on its chest. Players must then search the corpse and pull the key from its heart. To open the first gate, use the key in the blue electrical panel near the gate.

The Outlast Trials

Players will then need to find three more keys inside corpses to open other gates blocking the track's path. The clues for each are on the TV monitor, just like the first gate, with the shapes varying each time the trial is started.

Finding each key is easier said than done with enemies walking around the police station. As players unlock the gates, they push the Snitch through the police station to the electrocution chamber.

Electrocute the Snitch

The Outlast Trials

Once the Snitch is in position, activate the electrocution using one of the surrounding panels' levers. Players must hold the lever until the percentage reaches 100% manually.

The warden will be drawn to the area, so run away when he approaches. Keep doing this until the Snitch is electrocuted ultimately. The final assignment to finish the trial is to return to the starting terminal from the beginning of the map.

The Outlast Trials is available in Early Access on PC.
