Players are almost entirely defenseless against the enemies in Red Barrels' The Outlast Trials, a classic part of the franchise. Enemies are encountered during trials and are unique to each available map players visit during therapy trials. They are incredibly hostile and attack on sight. However, players can obtain certain physical abilities, like sliding, to evade them easier.
When players start at Murkoff Facility, they have few options for taking on monster-like characters outside of running and hiding. Of course, there are environmental advantages like health bottles and batteries, but if players want to buff up their character's moves, they must take extra measures. How to Slide in The Outlast Trials
Sliding is an excellent way to get out of trouble quickly when being pursued by an enemy in The Outlast Trials. Getting out of their line of sight by ducking into a locker or a dark room is the best way to survive while solving puzzles in trials.
To slide in The Outlast Trials, players will have to purchase the Slide prescription from the pharmacy in the Sleep Room. The pharmacy is only available to players after they reach Therapy Level 3. Therapy Level is increased by earning XP from completing trials. Trials are graded on a scale of F to A+, with F being a failure. However, players still make a small amount of XP even if they fail a mission.
After reaching Level 3, players can speak with Emily and buy Slide. Prescriptions are purchased using tickets picked up by successfully finishing trials. More arduous trials result in more tickets, but prescriptions only cost one ticket each. There are two tiers of prescriptions, but Tier Two is locked until players buy all of Tier One.
Slide is found in Tier One prescriptions, so players can buy it as soon as they can talk to Emily. Once they buy Slide, they automatically have the ability to use it with manual inputs. To activate it, press the crouch button while running to slide across the ground. Other helpful prescriptions increase strength, speed, and stamina players can purchase once they get more tickets.
