  • The Marvels follows Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan, and Monica Rambeau as they try to figure out why they swap powers, seemingly unrelated to the MCU Multiverse plan.
  • The rumored inclusion of Grammer's Beast has generated renewed interest in The Marvels, potentially boosting its box office performance.

The Marvels' post-credits scene is rumored to feature a legacy character whose inclusion could tie Brie Larson's Captain Marvel to the MCU's Multiverse plan: Kelsey Grammer's Beast from the X-Men movies.

The Marvels features Larson's Captain Marvel as she joins forces with Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau. While the story centers on the trio trying to figure out why they swap places with each other when they use their powers, fans wonder if The Marvels is another project with seemingly little to no connection to Marvel Studios' plan to build the MCU Multiverse in the lead-up to Avengers: Secret Wars.

RUMOR: New Fantastic Four MCU Villain Detail Potentially Emerges

The Fantastic Four MCU reboot is rumored to feature a new female character as part of the villain lineup, one with ties to Galactus.

However, a rumor seemingly started by reliable scooper DanielRPK suggests that The Marvels' post-credits scene will connect the film to Fox's X-Men movies through Grammer's Beast. "Someone who was the perfect casting for a certain role and never got his chance to do justice with it cuz they wasted him on a shitty movie is coming back. That's all I'm gonna say," DanielRPK wrote on Twitter. While DanielRPK never mentioned Beast by name, Twitter user MyNameIsJeff deduced who the scooper could be talking about by referring to DanielRPK's past comments about Grammer's Beast being perfect casting that was wasted.

Marvel Studios has not made an official statement on the matter and likely won't to avoid spoiling general audiences. However, the rumor was fueled when CanWeGetSomeToast, another reputable scooper, shared a Twitter post featuring posters for The Marvels, Deadpool 3, and Avengers: Secret Wars, writing, "It’s true. Everything’s starting to connect." Though these scoopers, including Grace Randolph, aren't revealing the cameo, MyTimeToShineHello added more legitimacy to the rumor by responding to a 2021 Twitter post about Grammer's Beast by writing, "Wow."

Avengers: Secret Wars is rumored to feature Ian McKellen's Magneto and several other actors from Marvel movies produced before or separate from the MCU. Marvel Studios' already laid the groundwork for crossovers with Fox's X-Men movies by introducing Patrick Stewart's Professor X in Doctor Strange 2 and bringing Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine for Deadpool 3. So, using Grammer's Beast to connect The Marvels to the MCU's Multiverse storyline isn't far-fetched.

The Marvels box office projections already point to a low opening weekend for the film. However, rumors of Grammer's Beast have renewed interest in otherwise dismissive moviegoers. Of course, some fans were already excited for The Marvels, so this rumor is only icing on the cake.

The Marvels will be released in theaters on November 10, 2023.
