After The Mandalorian season 3 finale, fans have wondered what comes next for Din Djarin and Grogu. While questions regarding their futures and the futures of their friends remain unanswered, a recent anecdote from Katee Sackhoff has given some fans hope regarding Din and Bo-Katan's future relationship. While The Mandalorian primarily focuses on Din and Grogu, the show has frequently taken the time to explore other stories in the Star Wars universe; season 3 was no different. Bo-Katan's reunification of the different Mandalorian clans and her ascension to power among the Mandalorians was a main focus of season 3’s story, which led to many emotional moments for the character and Sackhoff herself.RELATED: Star Wars: Ahsoka Will Have Its Own Lovable Grogu-Like CharacterRecently, Sackhoff discussed some of these moments and gave fans a peak behind the curtain at what filming The Mandalorian is like. During an interview at Phoenix Fan Fusion 2023, Sackhoff discussed filming The Mandalorian season 3. A video shared by @misspat_17 on Twitter captured a moment during the interview in which Sackhoff discussed the more emotional parts of filming the season, including a take in which one of the actors in Din Djarin's suit briefly made a popular fan theory reality. Answering a question regarding her favorite episode of The Mandalorian season 3, Sackhoff said, "So, the scene between Bo and Mando on the front of the boat is like our Titanic moment. Like, ‘I’m the queen of the world.’ I wanted to stand at the front of that boat. It was begging for me to do that." When asked if there were any takes in which she tried that, Sackhoff said, "There is definitely an outtake where Brendan Wayne grabbed my face and kissed me through the Mando helmet. It was quite funny. Brendan Wayne is one of the men that wear the suit. And it was really fun."

Sackhoff admitted that she recognizes the chemistry between Din and Bo-Katan - and it sounds like there have already been discussions about what that chemistry could lead to. "I was at home going like, ‘Oh my god, he loves her so much…’ I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m shipping them." she said. "We did have multiple conversations about… there’s too many children here, so I won’t talk about it, but we were having questions about what would happen because of the helmets and everything… I mean, it really could’ve just… that whole scene at the living waters [of Mandalore] could’ve been very different."

While an improvised kiss from behind a helmet isn't exactly a confirmation that Bo-Katan and Din will live happily ever after together, the fact that Sackhoff saw the moment as romantic even in its final, no-kissing form is encouraging for fans who have been rooting for the two Mandalorians to explore a relationship with one another. Romance hasn't been a focus of the show, so introducing a romantic subplot could feel off-brand and forced if done incorrectly. However, The Mandalorian season 3 saw so much growth regarding Din and Bo-Katan's relationship that there is a strong foundation for a more romantic relationship to evolve.

The Mandalorian seasons 1-3 are available to stream now on Disney Plus.
