Their journey leads them to a new Star Wars planet with Plazir-15, and despite a new planet, there are plenty of returning easter eggs in this Star Wars property.

There are familiar and famous faces that arrive in this episode of The Mandalorian, as well as mentions and droids that further heighten the detective story of Din Djarin and Bo-Katan as they travel through Plazir-15, all the while, the audience looks for the exciting Star Wars easter eggs.

11 Jack Black as Captain Bombardier

Cameos galore! The Mandalorian Season 3, Episode 6 features a few cast members that were a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. One of the first and most famous faces that audiences will see in this episode is Jack Black, who plays a character named Captain Bombardier, a former Galactic Empire officer who has joined the New Republic as part of its Amnesty Program.

Captain Bombardier has all the charisma that one would expect from Jack Black in this guest appearance. It’s impossible to tell whether audiences will see this character again, but he has quite the responsibilities as Captain of Plazir-15 and a devoted lover of absolute democracy.

10 Lizzo as The Duchess

the duchess and grogu

Many changes have come about to the galaxy far, far away, including to the small planet of Plazir-15. The Duchess of this small occupation is played by none other than Lizzo, a wholesome and charismatic personality that bursts onto the screen, and much like the audiences that follow has a unique obsession with the adorable Grogu.

In character, the Duchess is the wife of Captain Bombardier, and together they work to bring about democracy and love to Plazir-15. It’s a peaceful society with no weapons or armies, and the citizens spend their time enjoying recreational activities, inspired by the Duchess.

9 Christopher Lloyd as Commissioner Helgait

commissioner helgait played by christopher lloyd

Great Scott, it’s Christopher Lloyd in Star Wars! Although Christopher Lloyd could perhaps play anyone in Star Wars, The Mandalorian chose to make Christopher Lloyd a Separatist apologist. As always, Lloyd is brilliant in the roles he is given, and as Commissioner Helgait, he has a duty to the citizens of Plazir-15 and his political beliefs.

Commissioner Helgait had quite the career on Plazir-15 and was respected in the echelons of society for his role of keeping the peace. However, it seems as if all this peacekeeping made Helgait sour for a future that he did not want. Despite his sins, Helgait is still loyal to the Duchess, but not her husband.

8 Mandalorian Star Destroyer

As the episode of The Mandalorian opens, many expect that the incoming Star Destroyer will be controlled by Imperials, and perhaps even Moff Gideon. However, it turns out that this vessel was commandeered by Mandalorians, and is used as their base of operations when they commit themselves to bounty-hunting targets.

Claiming a Star Destroyer as a base is no easy task, nor is it easy to maintain. These star ships are gigantic, and they demand the intimidation of any vessel that comes into contact with them. Well, any vessel that is not a Death Star.

7 Axe Woves

Mandalorian-born, Axe Woves disappeared towards the end of The Mandalorian season 2. Many wondered as to where he disappeared, but answers will be revealed in the coming episodes. It’s great to see Axe Woves return for The Mandalorian season 3, and his story is certainly far from over, especially after he has just surrendered command of his Mandalorians to Bo-Katan.

Woves is a Mandalorian but does not follow the Way. His ideas on what makes a Mandalorian are dictated by blood and not the Way of the ancestors. These are just many reasons for Bo-Katan’s frustrations with Woves, for his stubbornness to see change.

6 Koska Reeves

koska reeves in the mandalorian season 3

A former member of Bo-Katan’s Nite Owls, Koska Reeves has seen many adventures and even dealt a battle with the great Boba Fett. Koska Reeves helped Din Djarin before, and it seems that she may do so again, as Koska Reeves is united under the banner of Bo-Katan. This character is someone audiences have not seen since The Mandalorian Season 2.

The return of Koska Reeves brings to light the abandonment of Bo-Katan, as this group of Mandalorian mercenaries had all left her, including Reeves, an ally that many believed to be one of the more loyal members. It’ll be interesting to see what awaits her next.

5 Prequel Era Battle Droids

Battle droids, more commonly referred to by clones as “clankers”, were thought to be decommissioned and destroyed across the galaxy after Order 66. However, even years after the fall of the Galactic Empire, there still seem to be some battle droids around the galaxy, even with their programming repurposed.

Battle droids originated in creation on Geonosis and they were the Separatists' answer to war. They ravaged the galaxy with their emotionless war, and now, they live on Plazir-15 as workers and assistants, reprogrammed to help humans find a better life.

4 Ugnaughts? Ugnaughts

Ugnaughts are regarded as one of the hardest-working species in the galaxy due to their commitment to droid smithing. However, they are loyal and proud people that will not take kindly to those that oppose their words and especially their work, which can make conversing with them the most difficult.

Din Djarin and Bo-Katan encounter Ugnaughts as they try to unravel why the droids they have been working on are malfunctioning and becoming rogue. However, thanks to Din Djarin’s friendship with Kuiil, he was able to talk to them swiftly.

3 Familiar Droid Bar Faces

Din Djarin and Bo-Katan’s search leads them to a bar where the only patrons are droids. Here, audiences may be able to recognize some familiar faces. Whether it’s the Seperatist era of battle droids, R2 units, protocol droids, or even the RX -series pilot droids, this is certainly a bar for everything with ticking machinery.

It’s always fun when droids get the spotlight, and The Mandalorian does a great job at showing the insight into the mind of a droid, and how they are united by their programming. They do not care what type of droid one is, they all respect each other, and humans equally.

2 Din Djarin’s Droid Hatred

Din Djarin seems to be personally invested in the droid malfunctions. Maybe he is frustrated at the fact that he has to be a detective rather than the ability to just continue with his quest. However, audiences might know that it goes deeper than that, and there is a reason that Din Djarin is so angry and frustrated with droids.

The real reason for Din Djarin’s hatred for droids is because of what he went through as a child. He was orphaned and saved by Death Watch, turned into a Foundling, and made a Mandalorian who follows the Way because Separatist droids killed his parents and destroyed his home. It’s understandable that Din Djarin still does not trust droids.

1 Count Dooku The Visionary

count dooku

In a surprising mention, Count Dooku is called to. Count Dooku was a Separatist and a Dark Lord of the Sith. He is mentioned as a visionary, and somewhat of a martyr, with Commissioner Helgait believing that his life was cut short by the Jedi Order. It’s fascinating to hear someone talk about Count Dooku after all these years and in the vastness of the Outer Rim.

Count Dooku is one of the most interesting characters in Star Wars, as his motives were always clear and he was never corrupted by the dark side of the Force. Dooku was a master with a lightsaber and showed ultimate cunning, which brings back memories for those that remember the Clone Wars.

The Mandalorian premiers a new episode every Wednesday on Disney Plus.
