Lords of the Fallen has a great variety of choices when it comes to selecting a weapon. Each weapon has its own uniqueness, as most weapons deal with different status effects, making them viable in different builds. As the game is filled with areas that can be tricky to explore completely, the Grinning Axe makes its appearance later in the game and certainly not on the main path. The following guide not only explains how to navigate the hostile areas to reach the weapon but also how to reach Bramis Castle itself, where the weapon is located.

Rumor: Lords of the Fallen Sequel Details Leaked

Details about a rumored sequel to last year’s Lords of the Fallen have supposedly leaked, with a possible title being one of them.

How To Reach Bramis Castle

Bramis Castle in Lords of the Fallen

Bramis Castle in Lords of the Fallen is the final location in the game, which is accessed through the Upper Calrath. The ending route does not matter, as the path to Bramis Castle will be the same for all players. After acquiring the Rune of Adyr in Abbey of the Hollowed Sisters, you can proceed ahead to The Empyrean, but that is not the way to Bramis Castle. Instead, you will have to teleport to Skyrest Bridge and make your way past the arena where you fight with Pieta. At the end of this path, there will be a door on the left that is open, which was not accessible before. This path leads to Upper Calrath.

After fighting The Lightreaper, if you have not bested him before, head left, avoiding the beacon on the right. Upon reaching the gate, you will have a fight with the Iron Wayfarer. Defeating him will allow you to interact with the gate and enter the outskirts of Bramis Castle.

Where To Find The Grinning Axe

Vestige of the Bloody Pilgrim in Lords of the Fallen

From the Vestige of the Bloody Pilgrim, backtrack your way back down toward the gate. Use the Umbral Lamp to walk through the gate and head right. Keep heading north towards the crates and the blocked path. Behind the crate is an enemy waiting to ambush you, so be careful at the point. After dealing with the enemy, head past the huge gap in the floor towards the crates on the right, which can be rolled through. Head down the stairs, and instead of opening the gate ahead, turn back and destroy the crates at the bottom of the stairs. Behind the crates, you will find a chest inside which lies the Grinning Axe.

Is The Grinning Axe Any Good?

Lord of Flames Build in Lords of the Fallen

The Grinning Axe is a great weapon that is acquired late in the game. Having 80 Burn and Ignite, as well as a high scaling in Inferno at max level, allows the weapon to be a primary option in most fire builds. The weapon only requires 17 Inferno to use, allowing most players to be able to use it without putting many points in the stat. With a combination of good runes, this weapon has the potential to deal high amounts of damage, allowing you to melt your foes.
