LOTR: Gollum is one of the most anticipated games set to release in the second half of the year. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum appeared at the Game Awards last year with a stunning trailer showing a glimpse of what to expect. Furthermore, the trailer shows the two personalities of Gollum arguing whether to attack other orcs who have heard the commotion, hinting at choice-based mechanics in the game.RELATED: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Could Get The Hobbit Another Game AdaptationDaedalic Entertainment hasn't released any information since the trailer, leaving fans to come up with interesting theories about The Lord of The Rings: Gollum. However, the devs have decided to break their silence about the game with exciting new information about the release date. Daedalic Entertainment has confirmed The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will arrive on PC and multiple consoles, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, on September 1, with a Switch version coming a bit later. The game's official Twitter account tweeted about the same, garnering numerous retweets from excited fans.

While most gamers are excited about the upcoming launch of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Switch users have a few complaints. They feel mistreated as developers release Switch versions of games much later than other platforms. Nevertheless, the majority of the fans are elated by this news and have high expectations from the upcoming stealth-adventure game. Most of all, fantasy game lovers are looking forward to seeing iconic locations mentioned in the LOTR books and movies. Mirkwood, Moria, and Mordor are some of the few confirmed places in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

In addition to locations, fans are eager to see famous LOTR characters in the upcoming game, particularly Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins. While developers have confirmed The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will feature Gandalf in some capacity, the same cannot be said for Bilbo. Despite Bilbo Baggins being a vital part of Gollum's story, fans might not get to see him in the game for many reasons. Some believe the inclusion of Bilbo will overshadow the significance of the main character, while others don't feel the same.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is scheduled to release on September 1 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and for Switch on a later date.
