Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero has finally had an official release outside of Japan since its initial release back in 2010. Like with every game in this massive JRPG series, Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero is jam-packed with story quests and side quests that are referred to as Requests. While some advance the story, others provide players rewards like Mira, Quartz, and many other different kinds of items. On top of that, players will also get Detective Points (or DP for short) as they complete and report these Requests.
Detective points are how Legend of Hereos: Trails From Zero players improve their rank and get useful rewards like powerful accessories that can turn the tide of a battle. While there is a minimum amount of Detective Points that players earn simply by advancing the story, it is possible to get a lot more Detective Points from other sources. Here are things players can do to get more Detective Points and get those rewards faster.
Complete Every Single Request
As Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero players progress through the story, more Requests will become available at the SSS (Special Support Section) Headquarters. These Requests are optional and will eventually expire if players do not complete them before advancing the story, which is a pretty standard feature in Legend of Heroes.
Aside from being a great source for Mira, Requests also provide a lot of Detective Points. While they won't be as interesting as the main story, players are rewarded for going off the beaten path when they do these Requests. The more Requests that are missed, the fewer Detective Points players will get.
Choose Carefully
Throughout the main story and the occasional optional Request, there will be situations where Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero players will have to choose from a series of options. While there is never a bad choice, only one of them will provide bonus Detective Points. When reporting Requests, if players see that they got bonus Detective Points like in the picture above, then that means that they chose correctly.
Keep An Eye Out For Hidden Requests
Aside from the Requests at the terminal in the SSS Headquarters, Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero players can also find Requests by simply talking to NPCs as they progress through the story. Like in previous games, there are no markers or indications as to where these Requests can be found, so they are a source of extra Detective Points that are very easy to miss. A good example of a Hidden Request is one that is available at the Bracer Guild branch near the end of the Prologue.
Players will be able to talk to the guy behind the counter, and he will offer a Request for players to take a quiz. The amount of Detective Points earned depends on how many questions that players answer correctly. Like with Requests obtained at the SSS Headquarters, these Hidden Requests are only available for a limited time. If players miss them they won't be able to get them without starting the game over.
