  • Despite confusion over remakes, getting into the series now is ideal with the HBO adaptation and improved gameplay features.

A fan of The Last of Us Part 1 discovered a strange bug where an infected behaves like a human npc. The Last of Us Part 1 is a remake of Naughty Dog's 2013 masterpiece and launched on PS5 in September 2022.

When The Last of Us Part 1 was announced, fans of the game seemed confused about the decision to remake the title, as The Last of Us is already playable on the PS5 via the game's much cheaper PS4 remaster. This wouldn't be a problem if the remake offered a lot of new content to warrant the $70 price tag, but The Last of Us Part 1 is a largely faithful recreation of the original game. Despite this, The Last of Us Part 1 saw positive reviews upon release. This doesn't make the game perfect though, and players have still encountered their fair share of bugs in the title.

The Wait For The Last of Us Part 3 Wouldn’t Be So Painful If TLoU Part 1 Had Been The Full Package

The Last of Us Part 1 would have made the wait for The Last of Us Part 3 much easier if it had included one feature loved by fans.

With the success of HBO's The Last of Us adaptation, more and more players have been hopping into the game. While playing the latest version of The Last of Us, Reddit user Nightdragons_ encountered a bug where an infected was behaving like a human rather than an enemy. Nightdragons_ took to The Last of Us subreddit to share the video of this bug, questioning if it actually was a bug or if the infected was just blending in. In the video, Nightdragons_ lures the infected to a secluded area in an attempt to have it walk into a tripwire. However, instead of walking into the wire like it's supposed to, the infected ducks under the wire as if it were a human character.

The Last of Us: Bug or Feature?

Other players in the thread confirmed that The Last of Us glitch is indeed a glitch and not intentional. In the thread, NotTheRocketman shares their experience attempting to do the same thing as in the video. They said that they have been able to lure infected into tripwires in multiple different versions of The Last of Us, and it worked as intended. So Nightdragons_'s experience is just a strange glitch and not intentional.

Despite fans not understanding the purpose of The Last of Us being remade, Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered in January this year to even more confusion. The Last of Us Part 2 is already a divisive game in the series, and all the complaints about the remake of the first game apply to this release as well. Despite mixed receptions to the PS5 renditions of The Last of Us games, now is the perfect time to get into the series. Season 2 of the HBO adaptation is in development and the PS5 games serve as an easy means to experience the franchise.
