In the fourth section of The Last of Us Part 1, players are introduced to an interesting new character. Bill was mentioned earlier in the story by Tess, and it is implied that he has worked with and known both her and Joel for a long time. While he is a recluse, Bill is handy with traps and even provides players with new weapons to test out against the several Infected enemies that also roam the town.

There are plenty of buildings and obscure corners to investigate in the town, providing players lots of opportunities to gather resources and pick up collectibles along the way. Bill in particular tends to leave little notes around the town as little reminders of things he needs to do to keep on top of the upkeep of his defenses.

There are 99 total notes and artifacts for players to find across both The Last of Us Part 1 and its expansion, Left Behind. Collecting them all will earn players the trophy “Chronicles.” Here's where players can find the artifacts in Bill’s Town.

Note to Rachel

After ducking under one of Bill’s wire traps, there will be banging against a door to the player’s left. Players should head inside this house and go up the stairs before taking a left into the living room. A Runner will ambush Joel as the player enters. After taking it down, it will be safe to collect the note on the table to the right of the room.

After finding the car, players can explore Frank’s house to collect resources before heading out. If players go straight from the garage to the room opposite, they will see Frank’s bedroom, and his note can be found to the left on a desk by the window. Players then have the option to show Bill this note, which he will scrunch up and throw away after making a few terse comments. The note can be picked up again, only now it is crumpled and players earn the “In Memorium” trophy.

The Last of Us Part 1 is available on PlayStation 5 and a PC version is in development.
