With The Last of Us Part 2 finally in the hands of fans enjoying the gruesome tale of survival, some are already looking to the next project for the franchise. HBO's The Last of Us series was announced in March and now fans have started theorizing on what the series will be. One person very close to The Last of Us franchise decided to give their opinion on the show's casting choices.

Troy Baker, who provides the voice of Joel in both Last of Us games, weighed in on who he thinks should bring the character to life. Speaking to Collider, Baker suggested that actor Josh Brolin would be a "knockout choice" but did waver upon further elaboration.

While Baker believes Brolin would be great for the role and even pitched it to him in an airport lounge, Baker wants a different take on Joel's character. Despite Brolin being a great fit for Joel, to Baker he may be too similar to the Joel he voices.

While Baker has put his thoughts to Brolin, there are a lot of actors that are being eyed to play Joel by fans of the franchise. Baker did joke that he would happily step in front of the camera if nobody else could could make it work. Of the two possible outcomes; whether somebody out of left field takes the role and kills it or Troy comes in to save the day, either one is a "win" for Baker.

Currently, not much is known of the HBO project outside of a few details that have released over the months. The most recent bit of info to pop up for the series came just before the launch of The Last of Us Part 2. Johan Renck will be directing the pilot episode of HBO's The Last of Us. This news wasn't all too surprising due to Rencks close working relationship with Chernobyl producer Craig Mazin, who is also producing the upcoming TV adaptation. The Naughty Dog team is also heavily involved with the project as Neil Druckmann produces and Gustavo Santaolalla serves as composer.

With The Last of Us Part 2 finally out, fans are still hotly discussing one of Sony's biggest releases of the generation. The game has been met with high critical praise and jarring fan reception. The game has faced significant review bombing as well as fans in the throws of debating the story. Regardless of where people stand with The Last of Us Part 2, it is definitely making a big impact before the next generation.

The Last of Us Part 2 is available now on PlayStation 4.
