A Last of Us fan has a pretty cool idea for a new weapon that Ellie could use in Part 3. It may not seem like she needs to up her arsenal in any way, but it’s an interesting idea that is unlike any of the other weapons used in The Last of Us so far.

The effects of this weapon would be devastating for enemies. Many of the initial responses were people negating the idea by claiming that it would only cause more problems for players, as they would then have to deal with more infected. However, The-golden-guy clarifies their stance by explaining that the spore bomb would serve more as a trap to aid Ellie in stealth, as it would stun and scare enemies, leaving them vulnerable to attack.
The idea makes sense because Ellie is immune to the cordyceps virus, so the spores wouldn’t affect her in any way. It’s a unique way for her to take advantage of her immunity—a useful edge that she has over her enemies.
