The Last of Us 2's Documentary Suggests an Exciting FromSoftware Influence for The Last of Us 3

Based on information revealed by a recent Last of Us 2 documentary, there may be a chance for The Last of Us 3 to have some FromSoftware DNA.

In a post on The Last of Us 2 subreddit, user Stuff_Nugget highlights how they came across a strange detail while eavesdropping on the Seraphites in the Chinatown Sniper encounter. The two Seraphites, of which one is male and the other is female, can be found conversing about their experiences. One of them is a newcomer and will be explaining how it's their first time far away from Haven, which is the home to Seraphites. What makes it interesting is that the dialogue can be said by either of two Seraphites at random, which is quite praiseworthy considering that it is quite a minute aspect of The Last of Us 2.

The Last Of Us 2's Seraphites Are Much More Detailed Than Initially Thought

Redditors are in awe of the discovery, considering that the developers would have to record the same The Last of Us 2 voice lines twice to make this possible. While some suggest that it might have been achieved with the help of AI, that theory doesn't have any absolute evidence.

A user highlights yet another interesting detail, which involves the Seraphites calling their companion by a different name in the opening dialogue every time. That's not all, if players end up killing the Seraphite that they were talking to, they will yell the same name which they mentioned in the opening dialogue. Many highlighted how this detail is quite notable for the game's underlying theme, considering that it is symbolic of how Ellie and Abby's actions are leading more and more toward the path of revenge. As the release of The Last of Us 2 Remastered rekindles the interest of the fanbase, it will be interesting to see what more hidden secrets players end up discovering.
