The Invincible is a new retro-futuristic hard sci-fi adventure game developed by Starward Industries. It takes the rich story and worlds from the classic namesake novel published in 1964 by Polish author Stanislaw Lem and adapts it into a fascinating game.
Set in the uninhabited and rocky, desert-like planet Regis III, the game follows the journey of Yasna – a skilled astrobiologist who is trapped all alone on this unwelcoming planet. As she explores the planet in search of her missing crewmates, Yasna’s first objective is to find their camp in this alien landscape. Using this guide, players can learn how to easily reach the camp in The Invincible.
How to Reach the Camp in The Invincible
The first thing players need to do after waking up as Yasna – the space-exploring biologist, is to inspect her backpack. Yasna has no memory of how she got to Regis III, which is why players must find her notebook. The notebook serves as the player’s map and guide and can be found under Yasna’s backpack.
As they flip through the notebook, players can find a page that states the ‘top priority is to get to the camp’. Below the writing is a map with three encircled landmarks, namely ‘dog’, ‘needle’, and ‘crocco’. The rock formations in the canyon closely resemble these creatures and objects. Use the telescope to spot them in the distance for further guidance and dialogue. Viewing at least two out of three landmarks can help players establish Yasna’s exact location on the planet.
If they look close enough, players can find a note on the map labeled ‘rope’ . They should collect this rope before heading towards the base camp, since it is quite helpful later on.
Although it’s not easy to navigate, players must follow the path between the ‘needle’ and ‘crocco’ landmarks. If they’re unsure about the way at any point, players can consult the map in Yasna’s notebook. Players should keep walking until they reach a hollow alcove in the rocks, which they’ll need to climb through.
After they emerge from the rocky cleft, players will be able to see tents in the distance. To head towards the camp, players need to get down the cliff. They can choose to go through the Steep Slope or find an alternate route. If they’re feeling adventurous, players can opt to slide down the steep slope since it’s perfectly safe.
Once they’re down, players should keep walking towards the tents, and push through the sandstorm – till they lose consciousness. After players wake up again, they should continue walking as they’re very close to reaching the camp.
Even though it’s tempting, players should avoid the path on the right side and instead slide down the slope into an underpass that leads directly to the camp. After some more climbing, players will finally reach the camp and complete their first objective in The Invincible.
