One of the biggest mysteries for the Xbox Series X is the in-development game from the new studio The Initiative. Phil Spencer has hinted had an announcement from The Initiative soon, but so far all's quiet. That may change in July during Xbox's first-party Xbox Series X game showcase, of course, but for the time being, there's a potential leak worth considering.

The leak is sourced from Italian outlet 4news editor Roberto Serrano. Serrano doesn't cite their source, but refers to a new "walkthrough video" for The Initiative's game being shown during Microsoft's July Xbox Series X event. He then provides some early details about The Initiatives game.

According to Serrano, The Initiative is making an action-adventure game with a focus on immersion and fun. It's set to feature photorealistic and interactive environments with high-detailed animations. It will also emphasize online features, apparently. Finally, Serrano says that The Initiative's game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and doesn't have a planned release window.

Serrano's "leak" unfortunately doesn't provide any information of any particular substance. It's possible that he might have even gotten the info from checking out The Initiative job listings. Nevertheless, the rumored info, reliable or not, does seem in line with previous rumors that The Initiative was created to make games of a similar caliber to Naughty Dog's games.

Expect more information about The Initiative's in-development project as it gets nearer to completion.
