Now nearing its first birthday, Sony’s PlayStation 5 console has been a resounding success so far. Having already moved over ten million units despite supply issues, PS5 sales are outpacing the PS4, which itself is the second best-selling home console of all time. With Sony having just revealed several big games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake at its September PlayStation Showcase, fans are left wondering what else the console maker has left in store for future conferences like The Game Awards.

One of the largest game awards shows around, The Game Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley first debuted in 2014 as a successor to the Spike Video Game Awards. The Game Awards is not only an awards show but also a highly-viewed platform for studios and console manufactures like Sony to make big announcements to eager fans. While it is currently unknown what the 2021 Game Awards has in store for players on December 9, a leaker has teased that there may be some big PS5 reveals to come during the show.

Video game data analyst and leaker Millie Amand has posted a cryptic to their Twitter page, hinting at incoming PS5 announcements at The Game Awards 2021. The tweet mentions The Game Awards and a PS5 tag alongside a GIF taken from the popular TV show Friends. The GIF features the character Monica from the sitcom as she excitedly calls out the word, “Seven,” Millie A then clarifies that the leak has nothing to do with the number seven, but rather the excitement that Monica is feeling in the clip.

Other Twitter users are trying to dig deep into the GIF to try and make educated guesses regarding what the PS5 reveals could actually be. Some are suggesting that since the character Monica is in the GIF that the leak could be in reference to Sony Santa Monica, the developer of the God of War series, possibly regarding the studio’s rumored new sci-fi project helmed by former God of War director Cory Barlog.

While Amand’s account has only been on Twitter since 2019 and has a relatively small number of followers, they have been correct on some recent video game leak-related news, like the fact that Konami’s new Metal Gear project is not being worked on by Bluepoint Studios. The tweet is quite vague as well, leaving much open for interpretation.

Of course, there are plenty of gaming-related leaks that happen all the time. Sony’s monthly PlayStation Plus games leak ahead of schedule quite regularly, and even The Game Awards have had titles prematurely revealed in the past. Fans will have only have to wait until December to what PS5 news Amand’s tweet is referring to and if it is, in fact, linked with Sony Santa Monica, as some fans suggest.

The Game Awards 2021 will air on December 9.
