The Flash’s first official trailer sure wowed many DC fans before the Super Bowl, however, despite it having a lot to unpack, the shorter ad that aired on TV gives an even more detailed look at Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl.

After all, the main trailer, which is 3 minutes long is supposed to present what will be the general story of The Flash where Barry Allen embarks on a trip across several universes in a quest to save his mother Nora, while also having to drop Michael Shannon’s reveal as one of the movie’s villain. In the TV spot’s case, by not having outline the main premise, it shifts the focus to add a few new images, including Batman’s vast suit collection.

That TV spot, now available on Warner Bros. Pictures YouTube channel, kicks off with a good look up close at Ezra Miller's new costume, narrating how Barry’s antics have changed both the future and past, and not for the better. The bigger treat though is that image of who appears to be a long-haired Keaton in Wayne Manor looking at the many Batman costumes he’s accumulated over a long career as Gotham’s crime fighter, with one of the Barry’s unveiling his Batmobile coming in at a close second.

That’s not all, because there’s also a glimpse at Supergirl facing up to General Zod flying just like her cousin in her own signature blue and red costume, in spite of the main trailer suggesting she’ll probably be captured at some point in the film. Overall, even if there aren’t enough shots that drastically change the first impression from the full preview, these stills will help fans start theorizing what will go down in The Flash's soft reboot of the DCEU into James Gunn's new DC Universe era.

Ben Affleck is mostly absent from the TV spot, but he was seen a few times in the pre-game footage, with his version of Bruce Wayne donning a new gray and blue suit and riding what appears to be a version of the Batcycle very similar to Christian Bale’s in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. The one common element both preview share is how good everything and everyone looks in The Flash, which is already looking like the superhero blockbuster to beat this year.

The Flash is scheduled for release on June 16, 2023
