The First Descendant is a thrilling looter shooter that challenges players to take on extensive missions, defeat waves of enemies, and collect rewards. These rewards can range from HP and MP replenishment, to resources used to build bigger and better weapons. The most important aspect to these missions is the experience accumulated, which can be used towards ranking up a player's ability.

In The First Descendant, all Descendants earn experience by battling and defeating enemies, and conquering missions. Experience can be used to raise up a Descendant's Mastery level, an aspect of The First Descendant that players should not neglect. Mastery ranking is a special feature that enables players to elevate their levels to new heights, receiving perks and abilities that will go a long way in tougher battles.

Paint is used to put a little color in your character's custom drip in The First Descendant. Here's how you can get some for yourself.

Where To Rank Up Mastery

After completing a number of missions and building up enough experience to level up Mastery, players will need to abandon their post and head back to Albion. Albion is the main hub in The First Descendant, allowing players to change their weapon and armor builds, changing their character's appearance, and storing important resources and items for later use. Of course, the area to raise Mastery can also be found at Albion's station.

On the right wing of the Albion station, players will find a location point called Prime Hands, which is where The First Descendant players can raise their mastery. Once the area is found, players will be able to access a control station that will reveal the required experience in order to use the machine. The Mastery machine known as Prime Hands is a platform with two giant hands, which create the energy to build up the Mastery level by one.

The easiest way to reach Prime Hands is to take a left from the spawn location upon entering The First Descendant and take the first left into an open room. Players can also locate the room by opening up the in-game map and finding it there. It will be to the right, which can be seen when players hover over the icon and reveal the Prime Hands title.

What Does Ranking Mastery Achieve?

For The First Descendant players looking to take advantage of the Prime Hands tool for the first time, 1500 experience is required to reach level 2 Mastery. This means players will first need to venture out into the next region and complete a few side missions. Luckily, online players around the world will be just as eager to complete these missions, allowing everyone to find a team and wipe out enemies quickly to gather experience and resources as rewards.

Once players have enough experience for a level up, it's time to head back to Albion and activate Prime Hands. This is the best way to ensure a Descendant's growth and ability to store more resources over time when taking on countless side missions. Every time a player ranks up their Descendant's Mastery level, the following areas will receive a boost:

  • Descent Module — Capacity +3
  • Weapon Module — Capacity +3
  • Equipment Inventory — Slot +1
  • Storage — Slot +1
  • Consumable Inventory — Slot +10
  • Shape Stabilizer Inventory Limit — +1

Players will also unlock special features as well, like Weapon Level Transmission, after a successful rank up. These stats will allow players to equip powerful modules for their Descendants and weapons in order to make them stronger, as well as the ability to hold more items and consumables that will go a long way to remaining alive during long and difficult missions.
