The Devil Is a Part-Timer! was first released in 2013, and after almost a decade of waiting, fans have finally gotten a season 2. The anime follows the story of Satan Jacob, a devil king, who plans to take over the world of Ente Isla, but his nemesis, hero Emilia Justina, manages to thwart his plans. He retreats temporarily to another world with his general, Alciel, and the two end up on Earth, where their magical powers don't work.

Trapped within this world with their enemy Emilia, they must adapt to their new lifestyles and human bodies if they want to survive, even if it means getting a job. Satan, under his new name Sadao Maou, manages to get a job at their local fast food restaurant MgRonald's, a parody of McDonald's. Sadao is perhaps the model employee every restaurant would love to have, and these are some things the anime gets right about working in the fast food industry.

6 Employees Eat A Lot Of Fast Foods

In the first episode of the series, Alciel, known as Shiro Ashiya in his human form, takes care of the household and researches a way to access magic. In the meantime, Sadao ensures they have enough money to survive by working at MgRonalds.

Shiro is slightly discouraged by his superior's financial choices when he realizes they don't have enough food to last until Sadao's next paycheck. He tells Sadao they wouldn't be in this mess if the devil king had bought their refrigerator, bike, washer, and dryer in installments instead of using his whole paycheck. As Shiro begins to worry about food, Sadao reassures him they'll be okay thanks to the amount of fast food he brought back from work. Many people in that industry can attest that they've fallen for this bad habit at least once or twice.

5 Employees Get Pressured To Make Sales

When working in a fast food restaurant (or even a clothing store), an employee is always expected to excel and hit the sales quota to become the number one restaurant in the district.

In the first episode, Sadao tries his best to sell their featured item, the Black Pepper fries, to achieve the restaurant's sale goal and make his manager proud. Although he may not seem pressured to succeed at first, once the fryer stops working, he panics and immediately wants to fix it with his magic despite it being dangerous. Fortunately, his manager interrupts before he does anything foolish and offers him a promotion for his great work.

4 Employees Must Go Beyond The Customer's Expectations

In this reverse isekai, Sadao is so dedicated to his work that he's willing to go the extra mile and ensure all of his customers are satisfied. In the first episode of the series, Sadao impresses his colleague, Chiho Sasaki, by offering a mother to reheat any baby food or milk bottle she had in the microwave for her child.

She didn’t have any, but she does politely thank him for the offer. This task isn't required everywhere, but it is something most managers wish their employees would do more often. Like Sadao explains to Chiho; "accommodating all of our customers' needs when we have the time gives us a long-term advantage", and he's right. By paying extra attention to the mother, she'll remember his kindness and will come back another day.

3 Employees Must Return From Their Break Ready For Rush Hour

Working in a fast food restaurant can be stressful and demanding, especially during rush hours. The tasks seem even harder to accomplish when the restaurant is located in a crowded area and is popular among consumers.

MgRonalds is a perfect example of this situation. Like in real life, the restaurant attracts many customers, so much that the manager warns her team, Sadao and Chiho, to return from break ready to give her their 100%. This situation is common in many restaurants as staff members rarely have enough time to wind down and relax

2 Employees Must Remain Professional No Matter What

In episode two of the comedy, the hero Emilia Justina, aka Emi Yuma in her human form, is at the restaurant and asks Sadao Maou if they can talk after his shift. Throughout their whole interaction, Sadao remains friendly and professional despite her horrible and rude behavior. He kept a smile on his face and focused on his sales by asking her what she wanted to eat.

He will also greet every customer as soon as they walk into the restaurant, even if it means he has to cut his conversation short with his friend and colleague, Chiro. According to Sadao, the customer always comes first, which should be the case in every restaurant.

1 Employees Must Be Punctual

Sadao is a dedicated and determined employee. He loves his job so much that he never arrives late or tired. Throughout the series, Sadao constantly leaves in the middle of conversations, often leaving Emi Yusa behind, as he starts heading home in the evening to get some rest.

Whether he's just finished fighting against a bad guy or not, he values his sleep schedule, and nothing will stand in his way. Sadao has one goal, to claim the ranks at MgRonalds, and being the best employee is the only way to succeed.
