The Devil in Me finishes the first season of The Dark Pictures Anthology with no shortage of scares and game-changing choices for players to explore. Featuring the usual array of protagonists trying to get along and survive unwelcome villains, team leader Charlie attempts to take control of the unruly crew during a tense dinner.

Throughout The Devil in Me, each member of the crew undergoes character development based on dialogue choices and actions. If the player helps Charlie keep his cool and motivates the team, the secret 'Toasty' trophy/achievement can be awarded.

During the Dinner chapter, players won't be up against any exploration scenes or quick-time events. Instead, Charlie and the crew will sit down and discuss the day's events, such as the man calling himself Du'Met disappearing from the island.

In order for Charlie to assume control and good leadership of the team, he has to give the team a constructive pep talk. Depending on how he speaks to the worried team members, they will either leave feeling dejected or empowered, and it is the latter outcome that will grant the player the trophy/achievement.

The best way to reach a positive outcome is for players to choose non-confrontational options when prompted. While some have mentioned they chose a few aggressive dialogue paths and still got the trophy, it is advised to make sure all the correct choices are made so the trophy/achievement is guaranteed upon finishing the chapter.

Positive Dialogue Choices

Charlie making the right choice for the Toasty trophy

There are five dialogue opportunities that Charlie has during the chapter, and the best choices occur in the following order:

  • REASSURING - I'm sure he has a good reason
  • PLAYFUL - I found a pack of invisible cigarettes
  • ENTHUSIASTIC - I would like to toast all of you
  • APPRECIATIVE - Erin, we could be lost without you
  • AUTHORATIVE - I'll be having a strong word

While it may be possible to choose the hostile option for the first two dialogues and still succeed in getting the trophy, the last three need to be selected as above, or the trophy/achievement will risk being locked out.

When done correctly, the crew will leave the table feeling better than before, thanks to Charlie's words. As the chapter closes, the Toasty trophy/achievement will appear, serving as a good precursor for the eventual death traps and tense choices that The Devil in Me will be forcing upon the player.
