The Devil in Me is yet another spooky addition to The Dark Pictures Anthology. As in previous chapters of this anthology, players will need to make choices about which characters to kill and which characters not to. In order to save all the possible people and get the best ending, some fans of the genre know that certain choices have to be made just the right way.

Jamie, who is one of the reused character models in the Dark Pictures, will need to choose between her new romantic interest, Erin, and the lead of the show, Kate. Either way players choose, the ramifications of their choice will echo throughout the rest of the playthrough.

Erin will panic, running from the killer after hiding in the closet. He chases her into a sealed room and locks the door behind her. Kate, played by Jessie Buckley in The Devil in Me, runs in to save her, locking herself in the second sealed room. Jamie and Mark are stuck outside, looking at them both. The air pressure starts to change in the rooms, stealing both Kate's and Erin's air.

When Jamie and Mark realize that they can only save one of their friends, Mark panics, leaving Jamie to make the decision for herself. Players can only choose to save one person, but is there a way to save both?

Killing Erin in The Devil in Me

If players choose to kill Erin, they will watch a cutscene of her using her blood to write "It's Charlie" on the window. She managed to escape the clutches of the Halloween-style serial killer in The Devil in Me, only to be killed in a gas chamber.

This unfortunate end will keep players from saving everyone. But there is another way that players can go; hopefully, turning the dial to save Erin will help to save everyone.

If The Devil in Me players choose to turn the lever to the left, Erin's room will unlock, and her air will rush back in. But Mark panics, seeing Kate lose all her air and collapse, and he begins to slam his elbow against the window. Luckily for him, this second window is much more shoddily constructed, and her manages to knock the glass out in time to save Kate's life.

What's the Best Choice?

The best choice here depends on what the player's goal is. If they are looking for speed, they needed to have her attack Du'Met instead of grabbing her inhaler at the beginning. If players are hoping to save every character in The Devil in Me, they will need to kill Kate instead.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
