The Boys spinoff release date was revealed by Amazon Prime Video, along with the promise of more Gen V news to come.

Gen V is a spinoff series for Amazon Prime Video's hit series The Boys, which has been widely acclaimed for its satirical sadistic take on superheroes. Gen V will take place at Godolkin University, also known as God U, a school for supes run by Vought International. The students in the series will compete for the best contracts in the best cities, and the show will have some aspects of The Hunger Games, according to the creators. Recently, it was announced The Boys spinoff would be released in September, but an exact premiere date was finally confirmed.

The Gen V Twitter account revealed a new poster alongside the premiere date for the series on Prime Video. The caption reads, “Schedules are out... new poster today, new teaser Monday, new semester September 29th.” The poster shows the bottom half of a defaced Homelander statue on the campus of God U. Gen V has been teasing the Homelander statue a lot, with a headless version expected to appear at San Diego Comic-Con. This suggests students are unhappy about what he did in The Boys season 3 finale. There will also be some other heroes from The Boys who are expected to appear in Gen V.

Not mentioned in the tweet is that Gen V will release the first three episodes on September 29th for the premiere. Each new episode will be released on Fridays after that until its season finale on November 3rd for eight episodes total. Fans will be happy to receive more content from the franchise since The Boys season 4 has been delayed indefinitely until the strikes end despite filming being finished.

The Gen V poster also shows the series' main character, Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair. Moreau will be a first-year student at God U and has a unique power that can be seen in the poster. She can manipulate the arteries and veins in her body to protect them from her wrists in the shape of tendrils. She can utilize this to grab onto objects or individuals. Additionally, she has a healing factor, so she doesn’t lose too much blood.

With a main character like that, fans can expect a lot of blood in this series. Seth Rogen promises Gen V could be more shocking than The Boys, and fans hope he's right.

Gen V premieres on Prime Video on September 29th, 2023.
