The Boys aren't going anywhere anytime soon. As filming nears wrap time on the fourth season finale, series showrunner Eric Kripke has hinted that there's more to come from the darkly satirical show.

The Boys' first three seasons concerned the Boys' battle against Vought and the Seven, a corporately sponsored superhero team. Set in a world where superheroes are real but also monstrously corrupt, the show satirizes modern society and capitalistic tendencies. Recently, The Boys' season 4 finale title was revealed as "Assassination Run," which promises more mayhem for the Boys.

Kripke hinted at The Boys season 5 on his Twitter. Kripke revealed that season 4 filming had been underway since August of last year and was nearing completion. Kripke assured fans The Boys season 4 finale would not be the series finale and poked fun at the lack of a release date in the process. "Cause you're asking!" Kripke said. "We've been shooting since late August. I'm here to prep & direct the Season 4 finale. No, not the series finale, there will be more! Most importantly, S4 premieres... at some point in the future in our discernible reality."

Despite the events of the season 3 finale, a The Boys season 4 teaser reveals Vought's supe business is better than ever, despite facing some heavy losses last season. Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligot) was presumed dead after joining the Boys, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) also defected to the Boys, Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) was killed trying to take down Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), and Homelander (Antony Starr) publicly killed a protestor. Former CEO Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) was also imprisoned for his crimes.

Interestingly, Mitchell appears to be back for The Boys season 4. While it's unknown in what capacity he'll be back, signs seem to point to a return for Black Noir. If the character does return, that would speak to his durability. Homelander brutally dispatched Black Noir in a manner that not even Homelander could survive. As revealed last season, Black Noir isn't exactly a normal supe - if such a thing exists - as he's ageless and missing part of his brain.

The Boys is also set to introduce a new spin-off titled Gen V. That series is set at a college for aspiring superheroes and dives into the supe's point of view. While the Boys are dedicated to fighting corrupt supes, the characters in Gen V will attempt to join the wider supe society.
