With its upcoming third season in the works, many fans of the show wonder what the new season will bring. And while the creators are keeping it a secret for the most part, official sources have already released several interesting tidbits about the new season, making it clearer what the audience might expect once the third season arrives.
Soldier Boy Will Enter The Scene
Just like the second season, the upcoming third one will also introduce new superheroes.
One of the most prominent ones is Soldier Boy
, a parody of none other than the famed Captain America.His special powers include superhuman strength, speed, use of his shield and he's an expert in hand-to-hand combat,Â

. He also fought against German soldiers during World War Two as Steve Rogers did. Jensen Ackles, best known for his role on

Supersonic Will Cause Trouble
Soldier Boy isn't the only new superhero who will first appear in the third season.
Supersonic, who has a personal connection to Starlight
, will make his debut as well.He's supposedly Starlight's ex-boyfriend, and will cause trouble in Annie's and Hughie's relationship. Not much is known about his personality at the moment — fans will just have to wait and see when he appears onscreen.
Conflict Between Soldier Boy & Homelander
If the previous two seasons established anything, it's that Homelander doesn't react well when he feels endangered by his fellow superheroes. It happened with Stormfront, and it's also likely to happen with Soldier Boy when he enters the scene.According to Eric Kripke, Soldier Boy will have a reputation as the first major superhero, a Homelander before Homelander. The Return Of Supporting Characters
Not only will the third season introduce new superheroes, but it will also see the return of some supporting characters. One of them is Love Sausage, the super-powered man previously held captive, who has a very unique set of powers.
Potentially even more significant is the confirmed return of Ryan Butcher. It's unclear what his part will be in the third season, but Billy Butcher will apparently keep tabs on him and these two should have some scenes together.
More Trouble For Starlight
Even though Starlight has had it far worse in the comics, the show didn't give her much of a break. Supposedly, it will supposedly continue in the same direction. According to Eric Kripke, Starlight's actions in the last season will make her a rising star among the Seven, but only for a time. Soon, things will go seriously wrong again.It's currently unclear exactly what will her trouble be in this season. They could potentially have something to do with the presence of her supposed ex-boyfriend Supersonic, as well as Homelander's behavior.
Homelander Will Change...For Worse
Fans who have watched the previous two seasons might not have believed it possible. However, according to Homelander's actor Antony Starr, the character will become a homicidal maniac in the third season.Now that he no longer has a clean public persona he wants to maintain, he might change for worse in comparison to previous seasons. It's clear that fans can expect to see some serious shifts in Homelander's character.
More Revealed About Mysterious Characters
Some heroes (and villains) of the show are pretty transparent when it comes to their motives. However, there are those who keep their pasts a secret. The third season could potentially shed some light on two of the show's most mysterious characters: Kimiko and Black Noir.
According to Eric Kripke, the fans will learn more about Kimiko's interests in the upcoming season. As for Black Noir, he might finally take off his mask and reveal the person behind it to greater detail.
The Date Of The Premiere & Number Of Episodes
Unfortunately, not much is known about when the third season will premiere. For now, the show's IMDb page states that
