One of the more shocking appearances in Star Wars and Disney's The Book of Boba Fett is the appearance of a Wookiee bounty hunter by the name of Black Krrsantan. He is a fairly new and lesser-known presence in the Star Wars universe. In The Book of Boba Fett, Black Krrsantan is working for Jabba the Hutt's twin cousins, and is being used to threaten Boba.

From the outset, viewers can tell is that Black Krrsantan is an imposing and threatening Wookie warrior that could likely give even the legendary Boba Fett the fight for his life. However, there is far more to Krrsantan than meets the eye. Here are a few more things audiences should know about the character.

8 He First Appeared in Darth Vader #1

Black Krrsantan exists in a rather elite group of Star Wars comic book characters that have made it from the paneled page to live action. While he's not the first by any means, it is still a fairly limited number. Krrsantan made his first appearance in Darth Vader #1 (2015) by creators Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca. Both are very talented comic creators who are well-known for their work at Marvel, particularly with the Uncanny X-Men series.

Krrsantan has since had several more comic book appearances, including in the Doctor Aphra and the mainline Star Wars Marvel Comics series. Not many Star Wars characters have made this transition from comics to screen.

7 He Is A Disgraced Wookie Exiled From Kashyyyk

Little is known about Black Krrsantan's early days, beyond the fact that he was born on Kashyyyk, the Wookiee homeworld. However, it is known that he is disgraced among the Wookiee people, and he was exiled from Kashyyyk.

The Wookiees are generally a peaceful and nature-loving people, so it's no surprise that someone as malicious as Black Krrsantan was expelled from their planet. Surely something had to create Black Krrsantan, but the source of his cruel nature is currently a mystery.

6 He Willingly Worked With Known Slavers

The Wookiees are often targeted by slavers. Their muscle is useful, and their pelt is often prized as well. Trandoshan slavers in particular are the most notorious for trying to abduct Wookiees and sell them off as indentured servants. This has led to a long-standing feud between the Wookiee and Trandoshan people.

This is what makes it so much more shocking that, after leaving Kashyyyk, Black Krrsantan sought out the Xonti Brothers, a pair of slavers Trandoshan who ran a fighting pit. Krrsantan gave himself willingily to the Xontis so that he could train his body and fighting skills in their slave fighting pits.

5 He Was Hired By Jabba The Hutt To Kill Obi-Wan Kenobi

After leaving the Xonti Brothers, Black Krrsantan became a bounty hunter on Tatooine for the notorious crimelord, Jabba the Hutt. He was sent to kill a man who interfered with a water tax that Jabba was trying to implement. This led him to the home of Owen and Beru Lars. Krrsantan used Owen as bait to draw out Jabba's target: Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi.

This led to a brief but brutal duel between Obi-Wan and Black Krrsantan. Krrsantan received a scar from Obi-Wan's lightsaber before falling off a cliff, which allowed Kenobi to escape.

4 He Worked For Darth Vader Alongside Boba Fett

Later, Darth Vader approached Jabba the Hutt to broker cooperation between Jabba's criminal organization and the Galactic Empire. At this time, Jabba loaned out Boba Fett and Black Krrsantan to work with Darth Vader on a couple of personal projects.

Vader sent Fett after Luke Skywalker, while dispatching Krrsantan to hunt down a mysterious Imperial agent named Cylo — whose purpose Palpatine had been deliberately hiding from Vader. Krrsantan was successful in this mission, and brought Cylo to Vader.

3 He Also Worked Alongside The Bounty Hunter Bossk

Bossk, a brutal and infamous Trandoshan bounty hunter, has also worked alongside Black Krrsantan. This is somewhat ironic on its face due to history between the Trandoshan and Wookiee peoples.

This job with Bossk, as well as bounty hunters IG-90 and Beebox, was posted by Doctor Aphra. She had an interest in the fortune that belonged to the now-defunct Son-tuul Pride. She hired Bossk, Krrsantan, IG-90, and Beebox to steal the fortune from an Imperial transport,

2 He Bested Chewbacca And Almost Killed Han Solo

Black Krrsantan came into conflict with the Rebel Alliance while seeking the bounty placed on Luke Skywalker's head. This led to Krrsantan attacking the Millennium Falcon, where he fought Chewbacca and Han Solo. Chewbacca had recently been poisoned by a torture droid designated 0-0-0, so Krrsantan was able to beat Chewbacca fairly easily.

Krrsantan attacked Han Solo next, and it was almost the end of the smuggler. However, a damaged C-3PO interrupted the fight, and Krrsantan beat himself by attacking the electrified droid with brass knuckles.

Krrsantan worked with Doctor Aphra on and off over the years. He even once hunted Aphra on behalf of Darth Vader and the Tagge Corporation. However, the two also worked together to stop an assassination attempt on Emperor Palpatine.

This assassination attempt was put together by Pitina Mar-Mas Voor, a propagandist in service to the Empire. Aphra and Krrsantan exposed Voor's conspiracy to the publich, which led to Darth Vader killing Voor.
