The Batman is out and many fans are really enjoying the movie. Of course, talk of a sequel is all the rage now, and one fan artist imagined Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Joel Edgerton as Mr. Freeze for the next main villain.

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson in the lead role, with Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright and Paul Dano all co-starring in the popular comic book movie. The movie follows a much younger Bruce Wayne in his early days as a crime fighter and his dealing with the calculated Riddler. This film took a lot of influence from noir films and even the real-life Zodiac killer.

A twisted version of Mr. Freeze would fit very well in the dark world established by The Batman director Matt Reeves. Fans hoping to get an idea may have to keep waiting, but Instagram artist m.design34 did their own rendition of this character by choosing Edgerton as the actor to take on the role. The look they went with keeps the actor's facial features intact, but with the addition of the glass helmet commonly associated with Mr. Freeze. There's a possibility that Reeves may go with a skin condition or illness that forces Mr. Freeze to wear the helmet. Since The Batman world is separated from other movies, it's very likely that fans will see much more grounded takes on the other villains who end up joining the films down the road.

This villain's backstory is arguably one of the most sympathetic and less villainous out of all of Batman's foes. Victor Fries, also known as Mr. Freeze, was a victim of a horrible accident that forces him to stay in environments with lower temperatures. His main plight is the mission of saving his wife, who is cryogenically frozen until Fries can find a cure for her illness. Most of Fries' exploits involve him stealing money and taking technology for his research in order to bring her back to life.

The alternate possibility, which is based on the released Joker scene, would be to have Mr. Freeze look deformed as the Joker did. Having Mr. Freeze be the victim of a horrible accident that caused him to be hooked up to a machine sounds in line with the world that Reeves created. Mr. Freeze would probably be a horrific walking corpse that terrorizes Gotham in a sequel film, but of course, only time will tell when the movie is finally released.

The Batman is currently showing in theaters.
