Following The Batman's critical and commercial success, more installments and spinoffs will surely come soon. With more sequels coming, fans will wonder how the DCEU will portray some of the other characters yet to be introduced, like Batman's iconic sidekick Robin. Recent fanart gave fans a look at how Robin would look in The Batman universe.

The Batman fanart depicts the original Robin, Dick Grayson, and how he would potentially look in the franchise. While Grayson dressed up as Robin from boyhood to adulthood, this fanart depicted him as someone who, at most, looks like he is about to become a teenager.

The Instagram account jaxsonderr posted a picture of what a teenage Robin would look like if he fought alongside Batman in Matt Reeves' universe. While he has a Robin costume on, as given away by the iconic capitalized R to signify that he is Robin, he also has a hooded cape. While Robin wearing a cape is nothing groundbreaking, wearing a hooded cloak is a new fashionable idea for the Boy Wonder because it does a better job of concealing his identity with his hair hidden. It makes him feel like a real vigilante who stalks at night, looking for criminals to stop. The account also had the caption, "Dick Grayson in The Batman Part 2? Yes please!" with robin and bat emojis.

In the revolution of superhero media, Robin has not been seen much in Batman movies. Grayson played a pivotal role in the modern adaptation of the DC Fan Favorite squad, the Teen Titans, called Titans. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was mentioned as Robin towards the end of The Dark Knight Rises as a friendly bit of fanservice as that trilogy was wrapping up. The last time comic book fans saw the iconic sidekick run alongside Batman was in Batman Forever and Batman and Robin in the '90s. Not much has been focused on Robin in a live-action adaptation since.

Perhaps utilizing Robin could be what helps The Batman universe continue to feel fresh in its later installments. The Batman's appeal was that it explored themes that hadn't been touched on in any previous Batman film, like how he was The World's Greatest Detective for a change. Or how the Waynes weren't the ideal parents before their tragic deaths during Bruce's childhood. While exploring the conflict of a potential sidekick was touched up back when Chris O'Donnell played Batman's partner-in-crime, there are more areas they can explore. For instance, even though they had a mutual respect and desire to work together, Batman and Jim Gordon were portrayed quite differently than they had been in the past.

Whether they get to do anything with Grayson is another question worth thinking about. DC canceled plans to do a Nightwing movie, which was who Dick Grayson would go on to be after splitting up from Batman. DC is overhauling its universe, with more projects being shelved left and right. Fans are intrigued to see Robin, especially since enough time has passed since they last saw him in the flesh in a movie. The Batman provided some new material that fans approved of upon release. Integrating Robin into the mix could only add to that.

The Batman can be streamed on Max.
