According to Matt Reeves, Condiment King could be a potential villain in The Batman2. Similar to how Scarecrow was utilized in the first act of The Dark Knight, fans might wonder if a character like Condiment King will be portrayed in Reeves' grounded Bat-Verse.

Condiment King is a Batman villain that audiences may not be familiar with, as he is a parody character who shoots a combination of condiments out of a ketchup and mustard-style gun that can sometimes do serious damage based on the chemical synthesis of those ingredients. James Gunn had considered Condiment King for The Suicide Squad, but seeing as that didn’t pan out, there is still a chance that the villain could make an appearance in The Batman 2, thanks to Robert Pattinson's enthusiasm for the character.

ComicBook interviewed with Reeves for the 15th anniversary of Cloverfield, during which the director was asked if he had any villains in mind for The Batman 2. While Reeves couldn't answer that question, he transitioned to Pattinson’s admiration for Condiment King. Reeves described how Pattinson thought it would be great if the character was utilized in some way for the sequel, which the actor expressed during the press tour for The Batman. Reeves stated that this was not meant as confirmation that Condiment King would be in the sequel. Rather, it was Reeves’s way of answering a question he did not have an answer to.

There are storytelling devices in which Condiment King could work in TheBatman 2, despite the dark and grounded nature of the Reeves Bat-Verse. In the same way that Batman was introduced in The Batman by beating a criminal to the brink of death, the sequel could mirror this scene through a juxtaposition reflecting Bruce’s growth following the first film's events. Instead of Batman acting out of vengeance, he can now be inspired by “hope,” and reach out a helping hand to the unstable criminal Condiment King.

Not all villains need a superhero beat down. Condiment King could be used as an example of this by showing how the world reflects a character like Batman and showcasing Bruce’s character development. There may not be any room for the comic relief villain in The Batman 2, as it was reported that Reeves is already writing the screenplay. However, maybe there is a chance for an appearance in the Batman villain spinoff series, especially if Pattison's eagerness for Condiment King has a lasting impact on Reeves as it seems to have.

The Batman 2 is currently in development.
