There are 10 playable characters in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, including the Victims and the Family members. Outside of character abilities, there isn't much room to customize them; however, some have cosmetic skins that can be unlocked and equipped.

Many mass multiplayer titles feature cosmetic skins that, when equipped, can add a new layer of fun to playable characters. Most of the time, these skins can be purchased, but The Texas Chain Saw Massacre players are able to earn different looks by completing specific in-game objectives. While new skins will likely be added to the game as time goes on, there's nothing stopping players from obtaining what's available now.

How To Unlock Cosmetic Skins In The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Texas Chain Saw Massacre Victim outfits

The customizable characters on release in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre include all the Victims and Leatherface. The rest of the Family, unfortunately, do not have unlockable cosmetics.

As far as outfits, each character has an original costume that is available to them from the very start. There are additional outfits available that follow a theme that will be grayed out. Leatherface also has two cosmetic skins and several chainsaw skins that can be equipped.

The first four outfits for Victims are unlocked whenever players use that character for the first time. There are additional cosmetics that are unlocked whenever players play that character 5 times, 10 times, and 20 times. The cosmetics are mainly re-colors of each character's base outfit and do not affect their gameplay at all.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre Leatherface

Leatherface has three additional options players must download as DLC if they want to change his chainsaw's look, including Rusty, Memento, and Pristine. The chainsaw skins are free, even though they are considered DLC. Players can unlock his Pretty Woman skin by playing him 10 times and his Old Lady skin by playing him 20.

Some players have noted a glitch that prevents the skins from unlocking even when the requirements are met.

Players will need to partake in a lot of matches if they wish to unlock all the outfits available in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Each match must be completed, as disconnecting before a match is over will not count toward the unlocking of an in-game skin.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
