Thor: Love and Thunder is one of Marvel Studios' big releases set to hit the big screen in 2022, but so far, details about the film have been kept under wraps. For star Tessa Thompson, she is trying hard to avoid spoiling anything for fans, which Marvel stars have an infamous history of doing.

Thompson made her MCU debut in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, director Taika Waititi's much-needed turn for the character of Thor that established him as one of the MCU's funniest and most likable heroes. Thompson's Valkyrie, like the different portrayal of Thor, would immediately become a new fan favorite. After the events of the Avengers: Endgame, her character is now the new ruler of New Asgard, a storyline that will be touched on a lot in the upcoming film.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Thompson, who will reprise her role as Valkyrie, opened up about the difficulties of trying to not reveal anything about the Thor 4, admitting she's nervous talking about the film considering how big the Marvel universe and this film is to so many people. "I’m so nervous now to talk about anything related to those movies because the fandom is so real and I have said I will not be a house for spoilers," Thompson said. "So I can’t say much, I think everything that we need to know has already been said, which is that she is the king of New Asgard, so she’s navigating her diplomatic duties, she’s reunited with her friend Thor and we’ve got the gang back together."

Other than the film exploring more of Valkyrie's rule as the new king, a main plot point of Thor: Love and Thunder that has been revealed is showcasing Natalie Portman's Jane Foster. The astrophysicist and ex-lover of Thor, who is making her first return since Thor: The Dark World, is taking up the mantle of the God of Thunder. On top of that, Waititi also shared that the film will delve deeper into Korg's culture while introducing the Space Sharks alien race.

In addition to the two female leads, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, and Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster. Christian Bale will star as the film's main antagonist, Gorr the God Butcher, a tormented being whose hatred towards gods has led him to face Thor. With all of this talent involved and having somewhat of an understanding of where the story is heading, the upcoming phase 4 film looks to carry over the same exciting energy from its processor and become a worthy addition in this ongoing universe.

As Thor: Love and Thunder approaches in the coming months, all the buildup and hype will only make it more difficult for Thompson to not let anything slip. However, after already starring in two Marvel Studios films (especially projects as big as Avengers: Endgame), Thompson definitely is pro by now when it comes to keeping secrets.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release in theaters on July 8, 2022.
