How To Get The Honey Absorbent Sponge In Terraria

Terraria, Honey Absorbent Sponge guide

The Honey Absorbent Sponge can be obtained as a reward from the Angler NPC's fishing quests and can also be obtained pre-Hardmode. It is a reward specifically from giving the Angler a requested Bumblebee Tuna, fished up in the Jungle biome from a pool of honey. It has a 50% reward chance of being rewarded, with the other potential item being a Bottomless Honey Bucket. This is the only way of obtaining a Honey Absorbent Sponge.

The Honey Absorbent Sponge is crucial in crafting the Ultra Absorbant Sponge. This porous item is constructed of a Honey Absorbent Sponge, a Lava Absorbent Sponge and a Super Absorbent Sponge and can be crafted at a Tinkerer's Workshop. This multi-purpose sponge can soak up any liquid and is well worth crafting.

The Angler NPC

Terraria

A total of 32 different NPCs are currently available in Terraria, including the Angler, which deals exclusively with fishing. In either of the two Ocean biomes spawning in the player's world, he can be found sleeping on the sand. The Angler is one of the new entities detected with the Lifeform Analyzer item.

Once the player has spoken to the Angler and he has moved into a vacant house, they can talk to him daily for a new fishing quest. For his strange requests, the player may need to travel to different biomes, underground caverns, and even the hellish Underworld to fish for these rare aquatic creatures.

There are over 30 different fish the Angler can potentially ask for, so players will need to keep trying in the hopes of the Bumblebee Tuna, which has a 50% chance to give the Honey Absorbent Sponge reward. The Enchanted Sundial item allows the player to skip forward a day and ask the Angler for a new quest.

In addition to fishing bait, coins, furniture, and other miscellaneous gear, fulfilling the Angler's fishing quests can also yield rare items like the Honey Absorbent Sponge as a specific reward for catching the Bumblebee Tuna.

Terraria is available to play on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS3, PS4, PS5, iOS, and Android devices.
