Despite its humble beginnings as an indie game, Terraria has garnered a massive fanbase that has even surpassed triple-A franchises. But, the success of Terraria is due to its sandbox-style gameplay, allowing players to experience unique adventures every time they start a new game. Players can build interesting bases while still being able to face some of gaming's most challenging bosses, like the Moon Lord.
In order to create these amazing builds in Terraria, players need to obtain building materials. And one material that players often seek to add a little pizzazz is Ash Wood. But, this unique material isn't too easy to find, so players will need to do some research beforehand.
Where To Find Ash Wood And How To Farm It
Players that want to obtain Ash Wood will need to delve deep into the world since the Ash Wood tree (twisted, burnt, and glows in the dark) is found within the Underworld. And as any hardcore Terraria player knows, the Underworld is the most hazardous place in the entire game since it has lava pools and challenging enemies, like the dreaded Wall of Flesh boss. Players will know they have entered the Underworld (1500 tiles in a large world, 1000 tiles in a medium world, and 650 tiles in a small world) because their screen will start to shake due to the heat of the lava.
So, players will want to ensure they have the best gear and sufficient healing items since death is all but too common in the Underworld. Most of the unofficial classes in Terraria can handle the Underworld threats, but the three top classes are Ranged, Melee, and Magic. Ranged and Melee users should use Necro, Fossil, or Shadow Armor. As for Magic users, they should consider using Meteor or Jungle Armor. Players should also bring along plenty of Obsidian Skin Potions (prevents lava damage), Hook to cross lava pools, and an Obsidian Skull to negate damage from hellstone.
After cutting down an Ash Tree, it'll drop an acorn which can then be used to plant more Ash Trees as long as it's planted on Ash Soil. Alternatively, players can use Remix Seeds or Everything Seeds to grow Ash Trees, but they must also be planted on Ash Soil.
