Ever since its debut back in 2011, Terraria has always been a game with a sly sense of humor, with developer Re-Logic often naming its items in accordance with internet jokes and adding in small easter eggs for fans of the game to uncover. Examples range from the developers naming the best bait in the game the "Master Bait" to a mini-boss spawning called "Mourning Wood."

However,  it seems the developer has gone beyond mere euphemisms with its final update, adding a number of new jokes based around both recent events and some incredibly popular memes. The latter sees potentially one of the funniest Terraria jokes to date, with Re-Logic adding a description for one of its new items that references the strange emergence of the Gamer Girl Bathwater meme that took over the internet last year.

Pointed out by Reddit user QwertyAsInMC, it appears the consumable item "sparkle slime balloon" contains a fairly surprising ingredient, with the item's description claiming it's "filled with Party Girl bathwater." Naturally, this caught the eye of a number of fans, with many quickly realizing it was referencing internet personality Belle Delphine's bizarre sale of her own bathwater to fans last July. Labeling it "Gamer Girl Bathwater," her publicity stunt quickly became a widely spread joke online, with many mocking Delphine and her diehard fans for what has to be one of the strangest transactions in internet history.

Clearly, the event caught the eye of Re-Logic as well, leading to a hilarious easter egg that fans are no doubt sure to find amusing. As for the game itself, it seems Terraria is once again managing to gain a lot of traction with fans online, with the title recently launching its final update. Not only has the game had an enduring legacy for a mind-boggling 9 years, it has also managed to be a consistently impressive project that has given fans hundreds of hours of content. With Covid-19 trapping many in their homes, this final update will surely bring a lot of playtime for fans searching for something to do.

The 1.4 update brings a lot of new things to do as well, with the update adding new bosses, a new weapon called "the Zenith sword," and a new part of the game titled "Journey Mode," which seems to take a lot of cues from Minecraft's Creative Mode. Overall, it seems like it truly rounds out the package Terraria offers to fans and will no doubt be a fitting send-off for a beloved game.

Terraria is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and various legacy devices.
