Dojos in Temtem are a milestone location for players, where they prove their might against the Dojo Masters and progress forward through the game. Like Temtem's inspiration, Pokemon and their Pokemon Gyms, Dojo's have specific themes and Temtem-types.
After defeating Lady Lottie at the Windward Fort and freeing Sophia, she returns to her Dojo in Arissola. This is the first Dojo players will encounter. It focuses on Wind and Water-type Temtem. To progress further into the story, players must battle against Sophia, located at the top level of this dojo. This handy guide will tell players how to reach Sophia and what Temtem she will use in her fight.
Design
The Arissola Dojo, fitting with its Wind and Water-typing, is a complicated maze with the sea lapping at the bottom platforms. Players must navigate their way around, using various tornado and tsunamis geysers that randomly fire and elevate the player to different layers.
Some of these platforms lead to dead-ends or unnecessary inescapable fights, so players must be speedy and careful to safely reach Sophia.
How To Reach Sophia, The Arissola Dojo Master
As mentioned, Sophia is located on an elevated platform in the Arissola Dojo, and it is quite the mission for players to reach her! Upon entering the Dojo, continue right and fall down to the Master of Ceremonies NPC. Talk to them, and head north to the speed ramp.
From there, there are two water geysers. Take the one on the left, and end up on a strip of land with three speed ramps on. Sprint past these ramps to open up a chest containing two Tonic+.
Players will then need to take the ramp nearest to them, putting them in the path of a tamer.
Temtem up, defeat them and move onto the next nearby water geyser.
On this new platform, there is yet another pair of tamers to fight. Defeat them and move on. There are four speed ramps here, all leading to different platforms, and some unnecessary battles. Each fight does allow players to earn some pansun, so it is a good way to getting some much-needed currency.
Players need to continue forward, and use the third ramp to reach their destination.
This platform is empty, aside from a speed ramp so use this to get up to the next level.
From here, go north and talk to the character wearing a tropical patterned shirt. They will explain that Sophia is expecting the player, so they can advance forward. Open up the two chests here, containing two Balm+ and two Revives. Then take the speed ramp on the right to continue.
Before the final battle, there are two last tamers to fight: the Dojo's first and second lieutenants. These are easy though, so once they are defeated, take the water geyser up to reach Sophia and begin this boss battle.
The Fight Against Sophia
Sophia's team consists of the six Temtem listed below, all between levels 17 to 22.
Temtem | Type | Weakness | Trait |
---|---|---|---|
Kalabyss | Water and Toxic | Electric, Wind | Toxic Skin - Inflicts the Poisoned Condition for two turns on any attacker that hits the holder with a physical technique. |
Loali | Nature and Wind | Fire, Toxic | Botanist - Increases the damage of the holder's Nature Techniques by 15%. |
Sparzy | Electric | Crystal, Earth | Last Rush - Increases the damage of the holder's Techniques by an additional 40% while the number of the rival's conscious Temtem outnumbers the holder's squad. |
Pigepic | Wind | Electric | Friendship - Protects the holder from being affected by any damage-dealing Techniques from their ally. |
Tuwai | Wind | Electric | Spoilsport - Increases the damage of the holder's Techniques that target the rival team by 25%. Exclusive to Tuwai. |
Oceara | Water | Electric, Nature, Toxic | Hydrologist - Increases the damage of the holder's Water Techniques by 15%. |
It is recommended players train their team to be in the level range of 20 and above to make the fight easier. Since she utilizes Water and Wind types, players should ensure they prioritize having Nature, Toxic, and Electric types at their disposal.
Ganki and Scarawatt are two powerful Electric types that can be caught at the Windward Fort, where players would have previously rescued Sophia.
Weekly Rematches
Once players have defeated Sophia, they can go against her again in weekly rematches. A teleporter is available as players enter the Arissola dojo, so they do not have to bypass the maze again.
Players cannot use any items in these duels, so they must strategize and carefully select their Temtem squad. The only Temtem that remains consistent is her Oceara. Her other Temtem are randomly chosen each week to appear on Sophia's rematch team.
Temtem is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
