Longtime Tekken franchise producer, Katsuhiro Harada, gives praise to the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 during Summer Game Fest weekend. The upcoming fighting game reboot from NetherRealm Studios recently showed off its gameplay and new features at the Summer gaming industry event. It revealed new details about its story and how the Kameo Fighters feature works in Mortal Kombat 1. Alongside this showcase, gamers in attendance at the event also got a chance to try the game directly, with a hands-on preview that featured classic combatants like Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, and Kitana. One of those who got to play the preview was the aforementioned Tekken producer. Many fans know Harada to be open and communicative on his Twitter account, where he answers a lot of fan questions depending on their content. He's in fact rather infamous for being a bit of a troll and has very little patience for those who annoy him on the site. Despite that, the Tekken producer is quite receptive to certain figures in the community, such as fellow fighting game producer who is also a rather infamous troll, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon. Harada got to try out NetherRealm's upcoming game, giving praise to the rival fighter.RELATED: Tekken 8 Network Test Video Teases Another Returning FighterIn a tweet on Harada's account, he can be seen posing alongside Ed Boon, where they are both doing his trademark fist pump pose that Harada is typically associated with. They are in front of a background fashioned after Mortal Kombat 1's logo, alongside numerous fake candles. Harada's tweet reads that he just played the fighting game for the first time and that it was fun, while also thanking Boon for letting him try it out.

A separate tweet from Ed Boon's Twitter account thanked Harada for stopping by to play the game during Summer Game Fest, with a similar photo that showed the two doing the same pose. The photos made fans on both sides of the fanbase happy, where two legendary figures of the fighting game genre were together, along with seeing the producer's praise for NetherRealm's game.

Both producers have mutual respect for each other's franchises, as seen in the photos. Harada and Boon once described their favorite characters from each other's franchises, with the Tekken producer's favorite being Raiden, while the Mortal Kombat producer was a big fan of the Taekwondo practitioner Hwoarang. Some fans know this isn't evidence for possible guest characters of either franchise, but still hope that a Tekken character could make an appearance in Mortal Kombat 1, and vice versa for Tekken 8.

Mortal Kombat 1 launches September 19 for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
