The Tekken franchise has featured dozens of memorable and unique characters throughout its long history as one of gaming's best fighting game series. With the announcement of Tekken 8, fans are excited to see which characters will return and which will be left on the chopping block. Another thing to be excited about is pondering which guest characters will make an appearance.

While Gon in Tekken 3 was technically the first guest character in the Tekken series, Tekken 7 really changed things up by featuring four iconic guest characters. Akuma, Negan, Noctis, and Geese were the four guests in Tekken 7 and fans are now looking forward to seeing who will be added in Tekken 8.

1 Godzilla

Godzilla is of course the titular monster from the iconic 1954 Japanese movie. The king of monsters himself, Godzilla has had a long history of battle and combat. He's faced dozens of formidable foes including monsters, aliens, and robots, and would arguably be a great fit for the Tekken universe because of his combat history and Japanese heritage.

Tekken has also shown love for animal characters in past games, with guys like Roger, Panda, and Kuma. He would obviously need to be scaled down so he can fight one on one with humans, but that wouldn't be too much of a stretch considering the ridiculousness of Tekken.

2 Master Chief

Master Chief is the main protagonist of the Halo video game franchise. He's a seven-foot tall super soldier with an expert knowledge of combat and weaponry. Master Chief would be a cool and unique addition to the Tekken series as a guest fighter. His weapons like the energy sword and battle rifle would make for a fun fighting style unlike anything seen before in Tekken.

Halo fans have already gotten the Arbiter (another Halo protagonist) in Killer Instinct so it's clear that Microsoft is willing to let its characters come to the fighting game genre under the right circumstances. Also, Tekken 7 featured Noctis from Final Fantasy XV so it's safe to assume that Bandai Namco will want Tekken 8 to feature other characters from games outside the fighting game genre.

3 Terry Bogard

Terry Bogard is one of the main protagonists of the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters franchises. Terry is a good old-fashioned American man with a knack for fighting. He has an outgoing and fun personality and is ready to take on any challenge. Terry has been a staple of SNK games for years and is usually the character chosen to represent them. He's been featured in many crossovers like SNK vs. Capcom and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Terry's arch nemesis Geese was one of the guest characters in Tekken 7 so it would only make sense for him to appear in Tekken 8. His fighting style would blend perfectly with Tekken just like Geese's did. Terry is a safe pick for a guest spot considering he's a fan favorite and is no stranger to crossing over to other games.

4 Joel Miller

Joel Miller is the protagonist of the modern classic video game The Last Of Us. Joel is a rugged and broken old man that's spent a little over two decades surviving an unforgiving apocalyptic world. He knows his way around an assortment of different weapons and is no stranger to fist fights.

Joel's brutal and savage combat style would be a great fit considering Tekken likes to feature characters from all sorts of different fighting backgrounds. Tekken 7 introduced Negan from The Walking Dead as a guest so if the developers wanted to include another veteran of zombie apocalypses, Joel would make for a great choice.

5 M. Bison

M. Bison is one of the antagonists of the iconic Street Fighter video game franchise. He's appeared in every mainline Street Fighter game and was featured in the crossover Street Fighter X Tekken. M. Bison is a villainous dictator that's determined to acquire world domination. His use of the mystical force called psycho power gives him great fighting ability as well.

Tekken 7 saw Akuma (another legendary Street Fighter villain) coming into the Tekken world with a bang, so adding M. Bison would be a great choice for the sequel. Ryu would be the safe choice for a Street Fighter guest character but M. Bison would make for a more unique addition considering Ryu uses the same exact fighting style as Akuma.

6 John Wick

John Wick is the titular character from the John Wick movie franchise. He is a retired hitman who was brought back into the business of killing after his dog was murdered. Now, he uses his deadly skills to fight off hundreds of different assassins and killers who step in his way. John Wick is a master of many different fighting styles and weapons and can use just about anything to kill his enemies.

Tekken 8 would be a great fit for Wick due to the fact that it would offer dozens of formidable foes for him to come up against. Some may think that John would be a better fit in something like Mortal Kombat due to his deadliness but the team behind Tekken has proven with Negan that they're not afraid to show some more violent characters.
