Following the praise it has received from fans and critics alike, Tekken 8 already has players excited about future content updates. Speculation surrounding DLC characters is a common part of the current era of the genre, but the massive cast of Bandai Namco’s flagship 3D fighting game series has become an especially major source of hype. There has been alleged information floating around regarding the roster of Tekken 8 for months prior to its launch and various reveals, but the focus is now squarely on what the future additions will be.

The news that Eddy Gordo is Tekken 8’s first DLC character came before the game was even properly released, but he’s only the first of four fighters that are set to make up Season 1 of the game’s new content. Tekken 7 established the series as one willing to expand with DLC through the use of returning, new, and guest characters alike, leaving the future of its sequel just as unpredictable. Between several different sets of rumors and recent allegations regarding T8’s files, however, there is a chance that the game's upcoming characters have already been leaked.

Alleged Datamining Has Possibly Revealed Tekken 8's Season 1 DLC Roster

Future DLC According to Leaker Shootmans

The return of Eddy, a classic staple of the series since Tekken 3, may have seemingly set a tone for the rest of Season 1, but a high-profile rumor has now indicated an unexpected direction instead. According to a known dataminer, two Tekken 7 characters are returning as DLC, Fahkumram and Lidia, fighters most players wouldn’t have counted on given their lack of popularity compared to older faces. Marduk is also included in this report, with all of these names actually being inferred from their home countries and fighting styles being present in the data. There also appear to be vague mentions of Anna without these labels, so the overall leak includes the following for Tekken 8’s DLC:

  • Fahkumram
  • Lidia Sobieska
  • Craig Marduk
  • Anna Williams (?)

Rumors Previously Circulated Prior to Tekken 8's Recent Datamine

The Alleged PlayStation Store Leak

Before the base game’s launch, the biggest leak was the Tekken 8 German PlayStation Network listing that was allegedly screenshotted by a fan who saw it before it was taken down. This featured a different lineup from the rumors that would follow, as its cast is a bit more predictable than repeating multiple T7 DLCs. This screenshot indicates that Armor King and the kangaroo Roger will return alongside a total newcomer in the form of someone named Xiao Meng, meaning Season 1 could consist of:

  • Eddy Gordo (Confirmed)
  • Armor King
  • Roger
  • Xiao Meng

T8's Supposed Roster Photo and Other Rumors

Outside the more solid nature of the major rumors surrounding T8’s upcoming additions, there have been several smaller ones that are similarly unconfirmed. One came in the form of a somewhat grainy photo of the game’s entire roster with multiple new slots also shown on top, and the validity of these portraits has been a source of debate among fans. This image not only seems to show Armor King, Roger, and Fahkumram in a substantiation of other leaks, but also Tekken's boxing raptor Alex and someone who appears to be Julia.

With two other unknown portraits in the roster screenshot, fans have considered that these could be Eddy and Xiao Meng respectively. There is also a separate account of seeing a delisted trailer on YouTube for T7’s Josie Rizal, as well as rumors about James Rival, a character who may be hinted at in the game’s Urban Square stage. Between these allegations, any of the following could also appear as future Tekken 8 roster members:

  • Julia Chang
  • Alex
  • Josie Rizal
  • James Rival
