OTK Twitch streamer Tectone accidentally reveals how much he was paid for a Lost Ark-sponsored stream after receiving an email notification mid-broadcast. Sponsored streams are by no means a controversial occurrence, but how much Twitch streamers are paid for sponsored streams is protected information often covered by NDAs or other contractual restrictions. Needless to say, Tectone leaking his Lost Ark sponsored payment is as troublesome for the Twitch streamer as it is interesting for his viewers.

It isn't entirely clear when Tectone's sponsored Lost Ark stream took place, but he did confirm that it happened at some point this past November. Lost Ark did have a special promotional event in November featuring Twitch drops, where players could earn a rare Helgaia Pet Selection chest. The event lasted the whole of November, though, whereas Tectone's sponsored stream likely took place on a single day or over several streams.

Regardless of when it took place, it's now clear that Tectone has been paid a healthy $35,000 for running his Lost Ark-sponsored stream. The number was shown in an email notification that Tectone received while his Twitch stream was live. Tectone managed to quickly change away from displaying his desktop, but the damage was already done. Even if Tectone deleted the VOD and erased clips, Twitch chat is quick to screen capture and often never forgets.

Yet some might be surprised by Tectone's reaction. While he was shocked that he accidentally revealed information he wasn't supposed to, he also seemed very excited to have received such a substantial payment. A $35,000 payment is certainly great news, after all. He even casually talked with his chat about sponsorships for a while afterward, mentioning it wasn't even his biggest sponsorship from 2022. "Successful streamer money is crazy," he told his fans but warned that most streamers probably make less than a dollar.

While Tectone approached the issue casually, he did let slip some worries about the situation. He mentioned the possibility of being banned for it, which may seem severe but does convey that Twitch likely takes leaked sponsor information very seriously. It's now been over a week since Tectone's Twitch stream accidentally revealed his pay, and he hasn't been banned, so he's probably in the clear.

Tectone may not be one of Twitch's most popular streamers, but he's still very popular. He averages around 3,000 viewers but can hit over 10,000 viewers on a good day. He's also a member of the popular OTK streamer organization, too, which makes him more attractive to sponsors and advertisers. Tectone will hopefully take that $35,000 from Amazon for a Lost ArkTwitch broadcast and hire someone to turn off notifications from his Windows Mail app before it happens again.
